Colin William Brooks (born 9 January 1970) is an Australian politician. He has been a Australian Labor Party (Victorian Branch), Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since 2006, representing the electorate of Electoral district of Bundoora, Bundoora. He is currently the Minister for Housing and Minister for Multicultural Affairs since December 2022, having previously served as the Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from March 2017 until his ministerial appointment. Early life Born in Sydney, he was educated at De La Salle College Ashfield, De La Salle College in Ashfield, New South Wales, Ashfield before receiving an electrical trades certificate from Petersham, New South Wales, Petersham TAFE. The Big Cats are an American rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas. They were formed in 1993 by members of various Little Rock punk bands, but shifted their sound from punk rock to early rock and roll. History Early years The Big Cats formed in 1993 following the breakups of Burt Taggart's previous band, Chino Horde, and Colin Brooks and Josh Bentley's band, Substance. Each of the members had grown up in and around Little Rock, Arkansas and played together in earlier bands. They made their live debut at a New Year's Eve party on December 31, 1993. In 1994, Shannon Yarbrough, Taggart's former bandmate in 5-0, joined the band. In 1996, Bentley moved to Nashville. Pinhead Gunpowder's Jason White (who had previously played in Chino Hoarde), moved back from Berkeley, California to Arkansas to replace him. The Band of Heathens is an American rock and roll band from Austin, Texas. The band was originally formed by Colin Brooks, Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist in 2005. History The three original principal songwriters - Colin Brooks, Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist - shared the bill at Momo's, an Austin club. Originally, each singer/songwriter performed his own set. However, they eventually started sharing the stage, and collaborating with bassist Seth Whitney. The Wednesday night series was billed as "The Good Time Supper Club". A misprint in a local paper billed the act as "The Heathens". Drummer John Chipman joined the band in 2007, and Keyboardist Trevor Nealon, who played in the studio during the recording of both "One Foot in the Ether" and "Top Hat Crown & the Clapmaster's Son", joined the touring unit in 2011.
