Background Home bred by Godolphin, Colette is the first stakes winner sired by dual Group 1 winner, Hallowed Crown. Racing career 2019/20: three-year-old season Unraced as a two-year-old, Colette made her debut at Hawkesbury Racecourse, finishing unplaced and beaten by a margin of 8 lengths. At her next two starts, Colette finished in second place on both occasions, however she won her first race at her fourth start when winning at Newcastle Racecourse by six lengths. After a six-week break, Colette won at Kembla Grange Racecourse and two weeks later she contested her first stakes race, the Group 3, Adrian Knox Stakes at Randwick Racecourse. Street Sense (foaled February 23, 2004 in Kentucky at Chesapeake Farm) is a champion American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2006 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and 2007 Kentucky Derby and was the 2006 Champion Two-Year-Old. Background Owned and bred by James B. Tafel, Street Sense is out of Bedazzle, a granddaughter of Northern Dancer, and his sire is 2002 Dubai World Cup-winner Street Cry. Racing career 2006: Two-Year-Old Season Trained by Carl Nafzger and ridden by Calvin Borel, Street Sense broke his maiden at Arlington Park. Dixieland Band (1980 – April 7, 2010) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. Background Dixieland Band was bred by Bayard Sharp, a prominent and highly respected Delaware horseman and president of The Blood-Horse Inc. Out of the Sharp-owned multiple stakes winning mare, Mississippi Mud, he was a son of the 20th century's most influential sire, Northern Dancer. Racing career In May 1983, Dixieland Band won the Pennsylvania Derby by a neck from Jacques Tip, establishing himself as a contender for the Belmont Stakes. In the Belmont, he finished unplaced behind Caveat. At age four, he won June's Massachusetts Handicap by two and a quarter lengths from Ward Off Trouble. Helen Street (4 April 1982 – after 2004) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. As a two-year-old she was rated the best British-trained filly of her generation after winning the Prix du Calvados and finishing second under top weight in the Fillies' Mile. In the following year she was a top-class performer over middle distances, winning the Irish Oaks, finishing third in the Yorkshire Oaks and fourth in both the Champion Stakes and the Washington, D.C. Machiavellian (January 31, 1987 – June 27, 2004) was an American-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a racing career which lasted from August 1989 to August 1990 he ran seven times and won four races. He was the leading French two-year-old of 1989 when he was unbeaten in three races including the Group One Prix Morny and Prix de la Salamandre. He later became a highly successful sire of winners. Background Machiavellian was a bay horse sired by the outstanding American stallion Mr Prospector. Machiavellian's dam Coup de Folie produced several important winners including Coup de Genie (Prix Morny), Exit To Nowhere (Prix Jacques le Marois) and Hydro Calido ( Prix d'Astarte). Caerleon (27 March 1980 – 2 February 1998) was an American-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred racehorse who won Group One races in France and Great Britain. He was twice champion sire in Great Britain and Ireland. Bred by Seth Hancock at his famous Claiborne Farm in Kentucky, he was a son of the 1970 British Triple Crown winner Nijinsky. His dam was Foreseer, a daughter of U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee, Round Table. Caerleon was purchased at the Keeneland Yearling Sale by leading British owner, Robert Sangster. As a two-year-old, he made two starts at the Curragh Racecourse in Ireland for trainer Vincent O'Brien, earning wins in his debut and the Anglesey Stakes. Street Cry (11 March 1998 – 17 September 2014) was a Thoroughbred racehorse, winner of the 2002 Dubai World Cup, the 2002 Stephen Foster Handicap and runner up in the 2002 Whitney Handicap. He was an international shuttle stallion that stood at the Darley Studs in Australia and the US. He is noteworthy for being the sire of one of the greatest racehorses of all time, Winx, who was retired from racing in April 2019 with a world record of 25 Group 1 wins and also won the last 33 races of her career, the longest winning streak for a top-level racehorse in over a century. The George Ryder Stakes is an Australian Turf Club Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds and over at Weight for age conditions, over a distance of 1500 metres at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, Sydney, Australia in March or April. It is run on the same day as the Golden Slipper Stakes. The prize money is A$1,000,000. Winx is the only horse to have won the race more than two times. History The origins of the race are from 1903 when the race was run as the Railway Stakes on the same race card as the Rawson Stakes. The race was renamed in 1974 in honour of George E.
