Cody Chetty
Cody Chetty (born 28 June 1991) is a South African former first-class cricketer who played for the Dolphins cricket team. He played primarily as a middle-order batsman. In August 2017, he was named in Durban Qalandars' squad for the first season of the T20 Global League. However, in October 2017, Cricket South Africa initially postponed the tournament until November 2018, with it being cancelled soon after. In September 2018, he was named in KwaZulu-Natal Inland (cricket team), KwaZulu-Natal Inland's squad for the 2018 Africa T20 Cup. In October 2020, Chetty announced his retirement from cricket. However, in June 2021, Chetty was selected in the players' draft ahead of the Major League Cricket#Minor League Cricket, Minor League Cricket tournament in the United States. In March 2023, Chetty was drafted in Round 7 by the Texas Super Kings for the inaugural season of Major League Cricket. KwaZulu-Natal Inland are a South African first-class cricket team who are based in Pietermaritzburg. They form part of the Dolphins franchise and are one of five South African associate teams. The Texas Super Kings is an American professional Twenty20 cricket team that competes in Major League Cricket (MLC). The team is based in Dallas, Texas and was announced in 2023 as one of six inaugural teams to play in Major League Cricket. The 2018 Africa T20 Cup was the fourth and final edition of the Africa T20 Cup, a Twenty20 cricket tournament. It was held in South Africa in September 2018, as a curtain-raiser to the 2018–19 South African domestic season. Provincial side KwaZulu-Natal Inland were the defending champions. Organised by Cricket South Africa, the tournament was played between twenty teams. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. T20 Global League
The Mzansi Super League (MSL) was a Twenty20 cricket (T20) franchise league held in South Africa. The competition was established in 2018 by Cricket South Africa (CSA) as a replacement for the failed T20 Global League, but only two editions were played before the competition was itself cancelled in favour of the SA20 competition from 2022/23. The first edition of the tournament took place in November and December 2018. The South African Broadcasting Corporation broadcast all matches domestically on free-to-air channels.
