Cobra Beer is a beer brand manufactured in the United Kingdom. The group's primary product is a Beer#"Premium"_beers, premium beer with an alcohol strength of 4.5% by volume (originally 4.8%). The beer was founded in 1989 by Karan Bilimoria, Baron Bilimoria, Karan Bilimoria and Arjun Reddy. A blend of water, malted barley, yeast, rice, maize wheat and three varieties of hops is used to produce the required characteristics.The bottled version in the UK also contains sugar in its ingredients list. In June 2011, Molson Coors bought a controlling interest in Cobra. As of 2014, Cobra Beer is primarily produced in Burton upon Trent, Rodenbach in Belgium and Patna in the Indian state of Bihar. Rodenbach is a brewery in Roeselare, Belgium, now owned by Palm Breweries. It is noted for its Barrel-aged beer, barrel-aged sour beers in the Flemish red style. Brewery In 1821, the four Rodenbach brothers (Pedro, Alexander, Ferdinand and Constantijn) invested in a small brewery in Roeselare, in the West Flanders province of Belgium. The brothers agreed to a partnership for fifteen years. At the end of this period, Pedro and his wife, Regina Wauters, bought the brewery from the others and Regina ran the business while Pedro served in the military. Their son Edward later took over the brewery (1864), and it was during his directorship that the brewery saw great growth.
