Coal Hill is a city in Johnson County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,012 at the 2010 census. History Coal mining gave the town its name. Geography Coal Hill is located in southwestern Johnson County at (35.436998, -93.672307). U.S. Highway 64 passes through the center of town, leading east to Clarksville, the county seat, and west to Ozark. Arkansas Highway 164 runs north from the east end of Coal Hill to Interstate 40 at Exit 47. Jingshan Park is an imperial park covering immediately north of the Forbidden City in the Imperial City area of Beijing, China. The focal point is the artificial hill Jingshan (), literally "Prospect Hill". Formerly a private imperial garden attached to the grounds of the Forbidden City, the grounds were opened to the public in 1928. Coal Hill Coal Railroad
The Coal Hill Coal Railroad began as a coal mine on the north face of Mt. Washington, then known as "Coal Hill", begun by Jacob Beltzhoover in 1825. This mine was operated by a series of persons, finally by James M. Bailey, who extended the mine completely though the hill to the south side of the hill in 1861. The mine was then sold to the Pittsburgh Coal Company, and rails from the mine were extended an additional one half mile to a new coal mine on the south side of Saw Mill Run. The rails were extended to a third mine, for a total length of one and one half miles. In spite of this short length, the railroad had 3 locomotives and 280 coal cars. Coal Hill School is a fictional school in the British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'' and its spin-off series '' Class''. It is located on Coal Hill Road in the Shoreditch area of London. The school first appeared in the first episode of ''Doctor Who'', "An Unearthly Child", in 1963, and has had numerous appearances ever since. Several major characters in the two shows' history are depicted as students or faculty members at Coal Hill. In the original 1963–89 run of ''Doctor Who'', Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright are teachers of student Susan Foreman, while in the 50th Anniversary Special " The Day of the Doctor" and in the 2005 revival's eighth and ninth series, Clara Oswald teaches English classes.
