Cléber Verde
Cléber Verde Cordeiro Mendes (born 10 May 1972) more commonly known as Cléber Verde is a Brazilian politician. He has spent his political career representing Maranhão, having served as state representative since 2007. Personal life Verde is the son of Jesuino Cordeiro Mendes and Maria da Graça Cordeiro Mendes. Aside from being a politician Verde has worked as a college professor, lawyer, writer, and civil servant. Verde is a member of the Assembleias de Deus, one of the few members of the church in the IURD dominated republican party. Political career After having represented mostly left-wing parties throughout his political career, Verde joined the religious right-wing Brazilian Republican Party in 2007. Chamber Of Deputies (Brazil)
The Chamber of Deputies ( pt, Câmara dos Deputados) is a federal legislative body and the lower house of the National Congress of Brazil. The chamber comprises 513 deputies, who are elected by proportional representation to serve four-year terms. The current President of the Chamber is the Deputy Arthur Lira ( PP- AL), who was elected on 1 February 2021. Structure The number of deputies elected is proportional to the size of the population of the respective state (or of the Federal District) as of 1994. However, no delegation can be made up of less than eight or more than seventy seats. Thus the least populous state elects eight federal deputies and the most populous elects seventy. These restrictions favour the smaller states at the expense of the more populous states and so the size of the delegations is not exactly proportional to population. Brazil Labor Reform (2017)
The 2017 labor reform in Brazil was a significant change in the country's Consolidation of Labor Laws ( pt, Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho). According to the government, the goal of the reform was to combat unemployment and the still ongoing 2014 Brazilian economic crisis. The bill was proposed and sent to the Chamber of Deputies by the president Michel Temer on December 23, 2016. Since then, during its processing in the National Congress, it was going through several debates and additions to the original bill, for example, the proposal to end the obligatory syndicate (labor union) tax paid by workers hired under the CLT. The bill was approved by the Chamber on April 26, 2017, with 296 favorable votes and 177 against. Later, in the Federal Senate, it was approved on July 11, 2017, by 50 versus 26 votes.
