Club Aamal Sportif Bikfaya is a Lebanese multi-sports club founded in 1948 in Bikfaya. The club competes professionally in various sports, including futsal, football, volleyball, and basketball. The Lebanese Futsal League () is the top league of futsal in Lebanon. There are 10 teams competing in the league, which operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Lebanese Futsal League Second Division. The league was formed in 2007, with Pro's Cafe Beirut winning the first title. The most successful club in the league is Bank of Beirut, with five league titles. Bikfaya
Bikfaya (, also spelled Bickfaya, Beckfayya, or Bekfaya) is a town in the Matn District region of Mount Lebanon. Its stone houses with red-tiled roofs resting amidst pine and oak forests make Bikfaya one of the most sought-after suburbs of Beirut and one of Lebanon's most popular summer resorts. An old town, among its monuments is the church of Mar Abda, built in 1587. Etymology The name ''Bikfaya'' is a contraction of the Aramaic (Syriac) compound phrase "Beit Keifayya", בית כיפיא, with "Keifayya" being the relative adjective of the word כיפא, meaning "rock" or "stone" in Aramaic. Ghassan Sarkis
Ghassan Sarkis (, born in Bikfaya on August 8, 1957) is a Lebanese-French basketball coach who currently manages Tadamon Hrajel in the Lebanese Basketball League. He became especially famous during his time coaching the Lebanese team Sagesse in its golden years of success of the 1990s and 2000s. He has also coached the Lebanon national basketball team. Biography Born in Bikfaya, Matn, on August 8, 1957, he has 3 children: Karl Sarkis, the basketball player, Ralph, and Stephany. He began his coaching career in 1978, in the midst of the Civil War. In 1992, he was appointed the coach the Sagesse club, and with them won the Lebanese Championship, and the FIBA Asia Champions Cup in 1999 and 2000. In 2005, he started training Champville. Elie Mechantaf
Elie Mechantaf (; born in Beirut, Lebanon on October 5, 1970) is a retired Lebanese professional basketball player. He started his basketball career in the Cypriot Basketball League, before becoming the captain of the Lebanese Hekmeh BC (Sagesse) basketball club, winning the Lebanese Championship for 6 consecutive seasons from 1998 to 2004. Mechantaf was also the team captain of the Lebanon National Basketball Team from 2000 to 2006, also taking part in the 2002 FIBA World Championship in Indianapolis. He retired in 2008. Now Mchantaf is encouraging basketball in Lebanon through founding his own official club M13 (Mchantaf #13 ). Career Mechantaf was born in Abra (East Saida), the son of Rafiq and Samia Mechantaf.
