Clovis Municipal Schools
Clovis Municipal School District, also known as Clovis Municipal Schools, is a school district in Clovis, New Mexico, United States. The district includes Clovis and Cannon Air Force Base. History At least two parents in Clovis were arrested in 1999 on truancy-related charges after their teenage children repeatedly missed school. Terry Myers became the superintendent in 2010. He was formerly the superintendent of Mount Pleasant Independent School District. In 2012 the board of trustees continued the term of the superintendent. Clovis, New Mexico
Clovis is a city in and the county seat of Curry County, New Mexico. The city had a population of 37,775 as of the 2010 census, and a 2019 estimated population of 38,319. Clovis is located in the New Mexico portion of the Llano Estacado, in the eastern part of the state. A largely agricultural community, closely bordering Texas, it is noted for its role in early rock music history and for nearby Cannon Air Force Base. After the discovery of several "Clovis culture" sites in eastern North America in the 1930s, the Clovis people came to be regarded as the first human inhabitants who created a widespread culture in the New World. Cannon Air Force Base
Cannon Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base, located approximately southwest of Clovis, New Mexico. It is under the jurisdiction of Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The host unit at Cannon is the 27th Special Operations Wing (27 SOW), which activated on 1 October 2007. The 27 SOW plans and executes specialized and contingency operations using advanced aircraft, tactics and air refueling techniques to infiltrate, exfiltrate and resupply special operations forces (SOF) and provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and close air support in support of SOF operations. Mount Pleasant Independent School District is a public school district based in Mount Pleasant, Texas (USA). It serves the majority of Mount Pleasant, Winfield, and Millers Cove. In addition to students in the Mount Pleasant area, the district also serves high school students from Harts Bluff Independent School District. In 2009, the school district was rated " academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. On July 1, 2018 the Winfield Independent School District was consolidated into Mount Pleasant ISD. The ''Albuquerque Journal'' is the largest newspaper in the U.S. state of New Mexico. History The ''Golden Gate'' newspaper was founded in June 1880. In the fall of 1880, the owner of the ''Golden Gate'' died and Journal Publishing Company was created. Journal Publishing changed the paper name to ''Albuquerque Daily Journal'' and issued its first edition of the ''Albuquerque Daily Journal'' on October 14, 1880. Deming (, ''DEM-ing'') is a city in Luna County, New Mexico, United States, west of Las Cruces and north of the Mexican border. The population was 14,855 as of the 2010 census. Deming is the county seat and principal community of Luna County. A choice is the range of different things from which a being can choose. The arrival at a choice may incorporate motivators and models. For example, a traveler might choose a route for a journey based on the preference of arriving at a given destination at a specified time.
