''Clout'' is a talk radio program in the United States, which began on the Air America Radio Network, and is now airing on WCPT, a progressive talk radio station in Chicago. The show is hosted by Richard Greene (a communications consultant, attorney and prominent vegetarian who has been closely associated with motivational guru Anthony Robbins) and debuted on May 26, 2007, airing Saturday nights with a replay on Sunday afternoons. The show is variously referred to on the air as "Clout", "Hollywood Clout", and "Clout with Richard Greene". Air America (formerly Air America Radio and Air America Media) was an American radio network specializing in progressive talk radio. It was on the air from March 2004 to January 2010. The network was founded as a left wing alternative to counter talk radio with a right wing perspective. Air America featured programs with monologues by on-air personalities, guest interviews, call-ins from listeners, and news reports. Several shows had million plus audiences, and multiple weekday presenters continued on in radio, television, or politics after their time on Air America. For example, in 2008, ''The Thom Hartmann Program'' had 1.5–2 million unique listeners a week and ''The Lionel Show'' had 1.5–1.75 million unique listeners a week. Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, and Mike Malloy later had shows on other radio networks. Richard Greene
Richard Marius Joseph Greene (25 August 1918 – 1 June 1985) was a noted English film and television actor. A matinée idol who appeared in more than 40 films, he was perhaps best known for the lead role in the long-running British TV series ''The Adventures of Robin Hood'', which ran for 143 episodes from 1955 to 1959. Early life Greene of Irish and Scottish ancestry, and was born in Plymouth, Devon, England. Anthony Jay Robbins (né Mahavoric, born February 29, 1960) is an American author, coach, speaker, and philanthropist. He is known for his infomercials, seminars, and self-help books including the books ''Unlimited Power'' and ''Awaken the Giant Within''. Early life Robbins was born Anthony J. America Left (2004–2005) Channel 167 originally started out as America Left, a channel dedicated to progressive talk radio to complement the reformatted XM 166, America Right. It launched on March 31, 2004, and the lineup included hosts like Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, Al Franken, Marty Kaplan, Janeane Garofalo, Alan Colmes, Lizz Winstead and Chuck D. At the time, both Sirius and XM had centrist/progressive talk channels featuring talent from Air America Radio. The lineup was constant for over a year.
