Closer Than A Kiss (Vic Damone Album)
''Closer Than a Kiss'' is the tenth studio album by American singer Vic Damone, released in July 1958 by Columbia Records. It was produced by Frank De Vol. It features a collection of ballads from the baton of Frank De Vol's Orchestra such as " Day by Day", " As Time Goes By", " Out of Nowhere", and "You and the Night and the Music". The album was released on compact disc by Sony Music Distribution on March 9, 1997, as tracks 1 through 12 on a pairing of two albums on one CD with tracks 13 through 24 consisting of Damone's 1959 album, ''This Game of Love''. In 2007, Collectables included this CD in a box set entitled ''Only the Best of Vic Damone'', which contains six of his studio albums and one compilation. ''Closer Than a Kiss'' was included in a box set entitled Seven Classic Albums Box Set, which contains all 7 of his studio albums, and was released on February 5, 2016. Vic Damone (born Vito Rocco Farinola; June 12, 1928 – February 11, 2018) was an American traditional pop music, pop and big band singer and actor. He was best known for his performances of songs such as the number one hit "You're Breaking My Heart", and other hits such as "On the Street Where You Live" (from ''My Fair Lady'') and "I Have But One Heart". ''The King and I'' is the fifth musical by the team of Rodgers and Hammerstein. It is based on Margaret Landon's novel '' Anna and the King of Siam'' (1944), which is in turn derived from the memoirs of Anna Leonowens, governess to the children of King Mongkut of Siam in the early 1860s. Ralph Erwin (31 October 1896 – 15 May 1943), originally Erwin Vogl, was the Austrian-born French composer of a number of film scores. Career Erwin Vogl was born in Bielitz, in the part of Silesia which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He served in the Austrian Army during the First World War. Edward Heyman (March 14, 1907October 16, 1981) was an American lyricist and producer, best known for his lyrics to " Body and Soul", " When I Fall in Love", and " For Sentimental Reasons".
