Clockdust
''Clockdust'' is the third studio album by English musician and former Talk Talk bassist Paul Webb, under his moniker Rustin Man. It was released on 20 March 2020 through Domino Recording Company. Background and release ''Clockdust'' originated during the same sessions as Webb's previous album, '' Drift Code''. The first songs Webb wrote were "long arrangements that built up in layers to something sonically quite dense"; then, "as a reaction", he wrote a series of songs that were "tighter in their structure but had more feeling of space". Realizing he had enough material for two albums, the first set of songs became the core of ''Drift Code'', while the second set became ''Clockdust''. The album's lead single was "Jackie's Room", with a music video directed by Edwin Burdis. Paul Webb
Paul Douglas Webb (born 16 January 1962), also known by the stage name Rustin Man, is an English musician. He was the bassist for the English band Talk Talk. Biography Webb attended The Deanes School in Thundersley, Essex, with drummer Lee Harris, and they became good friends. They played in the reggae band Eskalator before being recruited to form Talk Talk in 1981. Webb played bass for Talk Talk until 1988. His composition "Another Word" from the album '' The Party's Over'' is the only Talk Talk song not written or co-written by vocalist Mark Hollis. In the early 1990s, he and Harris formed .O.rang. In the early 2000s, he adopted the name "Rustin Man" and collaborated with Beth Gibbons on '' Out of Season'' (2002). ''Drift Code'' is the second studio album by English musician and former Talk Talk bassist Paul Webb, under his moniker Rustin Man. It was released on 1 February 2019 through Domino Recording Company. Background and recording Shortly after finishing '' Out of Season'', Webb began thinking about making a solo album. Songwriting and recording started in 2004, but was put on hold several times while Webb worked as a record producer for other artists. Webb finished mixing the songs in March 2018. ''Drift Code'' was recorded at Webb's home, a converted barn in Essex. The instruments were recorded in a linear fashion: Webb recorded all the bass parts for the entire album before returning to the first track and going through the guitar parts, and so on for each instrument thereafter.
