Clive Robertson (artist)
Clive Robertson, (born 1946 in Plymouth, Devon) is a Canadian performance and media artist, critic, curator, publisher and retired Queen's University art history professor. He is based in Kingston, Ontario. Life Clive Robertson immigrated to Canada in 1957, settling in Traynor, Saskatchewan and in 1971 moved to Calgary, Alberta. He is a son of RAF pilot, actor, and Canadian educational TV pioneer Alan Robertson. Robertson attended Plymouth, Cardiff and Liverpool Colleges of Art in the UK before obtaining an MFA in Sculpture/Performance Studies at the University of Reading, England in 1971. He holds a PhD in Communication Studies from Concordia University, Montréal with a dissertation on artist-run culture as a movement and apparatus. Plymouth
Plymouth () is a port city and unitary authority in South West England. It is located on the south coast of Devon, approximately south-west of Exeter and south-west of London. It is bordered by Cornwall to the west and south-west. Plymouth's early history extends to the Bronze Age when a first settlement emerged at Mount Batten. Lisa Steele
Lisa Steele D.Litt. (born 1947) is a Canadian artist, a pioneer in video art, educator, curator and co-founder of Vtape in Toronto. Born in the United States, Steele moved to Canada in 1968 and is now a Canadian citizen. She has collaborated exclusively with her partner Kim Tomczak since the early 1980s. Early life Steele was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1947 and immigrated to Canada in 1968. Her brother James B. Steele is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist located in Philadelphia. AA Bronson (born Michael Tims in Vancouver in 1946) is an artist. He was a founding member of the artists' group General Idea, was president and director of Printed Matter, Inc., and started the NY Art Book Fair and the LA Art Book Fair. Early life Tims' father was an Air Force officer, and as a result, the family moved often; Tims spent his childhood in various places across Canada. The Governor General's Awards in Visual and Media Arts are annual awards for achievements in visual and media arts in Canada. Up to eight awards are presented annually with the prize amount is $25,000 Created in 2000 by then Governor General Adrienne Clarkson, the awards is managed by the Canada Council for the Arts. Ciara Phillips
Ciara Phillips (born 1976) is a Canadian-Irish artist based primarily in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Phillips was born in Ottawa, Canada. Her higher education was completed, first, at Queen's University at Kingston, Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada (Bachelor of Fine Art — 1996/2000). The Agnes Etherington Art Centre is located in Kingston, Ontario, in the heart of the historic campus of Queen's University.
