''Tom and Jerry'' is an American Animated cartoon, animated media franchise and series of comedy short films created in 1940 by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Best known for its 161 theatrical short films by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the series centers on the enmity between the titular characters of a cat named Tom Cat, Tom and a mouse named Jerry Mouse, Jerry. Patrick Joseph McGeehan (March 4, 1907 – January 3, 1988) was an American actor. Early life Patrick Joseph McGeehan was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on March 4, 1907. He left home at age 14 when he went to sea, later working in vaudeville, and was a tightrope walker's assistant with the Barnum & Bailey Circus. Career McGeehan began his career in 1935 on radio. He played Ben Calvert on the NBC radio soap, ''Aunt Mary (radio series), Aunt Mary'' (1942-1951). He was the narrator for ''Ceiling Unlimited'' on CBS (1942-1943). Patric Laine Zimmerman (born October 10, 1954 in Los Angeles, California) is a retired American voice actor. Career Due to Daws Butler's death in 1988, he voiced Elroy Jetson in the 1990 film '' Jetsons: The Movie''.
