Clifton Rugby
Clifton Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union club founded in Clifton, Bristol. Over the years the club's home games have been played in a variety of locations in northern Bristol, though never in Clifton itself; since 1976 they have been based at the southern end of Cribbs Causeway. Clifton RFC play in the fourth tier of the English rugby union league system; National League 2 West. History Clifton RFC is Bristol's oldest club, and one of the oldest in the world. Clifton Rugby Club was formed on 27 September 1872 at the Kings Arms on Blackboy Hill in Clifton, Bristol. The pub still stands, although it was rebuilt in 1902, and refurbished in the late 1990s. Clifton is the 32nd oldest club in the United Kingdom, the 21st oldest in England, the 2nd oldest in the South West (Bath Rugby older by seven years) and the oldest in Bristol. Gloucestershire Rugby Football Union
The Gloucestershire Rugby Football Union is the union responsible for rugby union in the county of Gloucestershire, England and is one of the constituent bodies of the national Rugby Football Union. Formed in 1878, it has won the county championship on numerous occasions. History The Union was formed at a meeting held at Gloucester in September, 1878. At that meeting, the clubs represented were Clifton RFC, Gloucester RFC, Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester RFC, Rockleage, Stroud, and Cheltenham White Cross. The Union was formed mainly due to the efforts of J. D. Miller, J. H. Dunn, and J. F. Brown. all of whom were amongst the Union's first officers. For many years, the playing strength depended almost entirely on the Clifton and Gloucester Clubs. 1989–90 Courage Area League South
The 1989–90 Courage Area League South was the third full season of rugby union within the fourth tier of the English league system, currently known as National League 2 South, and counterpart to Courage Area League North (now known as National League 2 North. It would be the last season the division would be known as Area League South and would be renamed as National 4 South the following year. Metropolitan Police won the championship winning nine of their ten league matches and were promoted to the 1990–91 National Division Three. Clifton (also promoted) came second, one point behind, and were the only team to defeat the champions. Only one team, Salisbury was relegated and they will play in South West Division One next season. Olly Kohn
Olly Kohn (born 19 March 1981, in Bristol) is a Wales international rugby union player for Harlequins having previously played for Bristol and Plymouth Albion. A lock forward, Kohn won the English Premiership with Harlequins in 2011-12, starting in the final against Leicester Tigers. Kohn was forced to retire at the end of the 2012/2013 season due to injury. International In January 2013 Kohn announced that he was eligible to play for Wales as his grandfather was from the Rhymney Valley. Callum Braley
Callum Braley (born 23 March 1994) is an English-born Italian rugby union player who plays for Saracens in the Premiership Rugby. Braley played his early rugby with St Mary's Old Boys RFC. His first taste of senior rugby came when he made his full debut at the age of 17, playing in two British and Irish Cup games for his home city club Bristol against Cornish Pirates and Ayr. Braley has been an England age group international from U16 level upwards where, selected for England U20s, his team won the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship with a 23–15 win over Wales in the final held at Vannes, France. He also skippered the successful defence of England U20s Junior World Championship at the 2014 IRB Junior World Championship.
