Clemente Faccani
Clemente Faccani (19 October 1920 – 15 September 2011) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Faccani was born in Lugo, Italy, and was ordained a priest on 10 April 1943. He earned degrees in canon and civil law. To prepare for a diplomatic career he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1953. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1955 and his early assignments took him to Guatemala, Costa Rica, China, Belgium, Australia, Papua New Guinea, the United States and Kenya. Pope John Paul II appointed him titular archbishop of Serra and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio to Kenya, on 27 June 1983. He was consecrated a bishop on 3 September 1983 by Cardinal Agostino Casaroli. A titular bishop in various churches is a bishop who is not in charge of a diocese. An apostolic nuncio ( la, nuntius apostolicus; also known as a papal nuncio or simply as a nuncio) is an ecclesiastical diplomat, serving as an envoy or a permanent diplomatic representative of the Holy See to a state or to an international organization. A nuncio is appointed by and represents the Holy See, and is the head of the diplomatic mission, called an Apostolic Nunciature, which is the equivalent of an embassy. The Holy See is legally distinct from the Vatican City or the Catholic Church. In modern times, a nuncio is usually an archbishop. Giovanni Tonucci
Giovanni Tonucci (born 4 December 1941 in Fano, PU, Italy) is an Italian archbishop of the Catholic Church. He worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from 1971 until his retirement in 2017. Diplomatic career From 1971 till the end of 1973 his diplomatic career took him to Yaoundé, Cameroon, then, from 1974 to 1976 to the United Kingdom. From July 1976 he was back in Rome, assigned to the Section for General Affairs of the Holy See Secretariat of State where he worked with Agostino Casaroli, until being transferred, in April 1978, to the Section for the Relations with States under Achille Silvestrini. At the end of the 1984 he was assigned to the Apostolic Nunciature in Belgrade, at that time still the Yugoslavia, where he worked until the summer of 1987 when he was transferred to the Nunicature to the United States in Washington. Blasco Francisco Collaço (born 16 May 1931) is an Indian prelate of the Catholic Church who spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See, including 30 years as an apostolic nuncio.
