First Epistle Of Clement
The First Epistle of Clement () is a letter addressed to the Christians in the city of Corinth. The work is attributed to Clement I, the fourth bishop of Rome and was almost certainly written by him. Based on internal evidence some scholars say the letter was composed some time before AD 70, but another common time given for the epistle's composition is at the end of the reign of Domitian (c. AD96).Harris p. 363 As the name suggests, a Second Epistle of Clement is known, but this is a later work by a different author. The letter is a response to events in Corinth, where the congregation had deposed certain bishops. The author called on the congregation to repent, to restore the bishops to their position, and to obey their superiors. Adolphe Clément-Bayard
Gustave Adolphe Clément, known from 1909 Clément-Bayard (; 22 September 1855 – 10 March 1928), was a French entrepreneur. Despite being orphaned, he became a blacksmith and a ''Compagnons du Tour de France, Compagnon du Tour de France.'' He later ventured into racing and manufacturing bicycles, pneumatic tyres, motorcycles, automobiles, aeroplanes and airships. In 1894, he was a passenger in the winning vehicle in the world's first competitive motor event. Albert Lemaître's Peugeot was judged to be the winner of the Paris–Rouen (motor race), Paris–Rouen 'Competition for Horeseless Carriages' (''Concours des Voitures sans Chevaux''). Clement Township is a civil township of Gladwin County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 892 at the 2020 census. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and (3.88%) is water. The Institute of Jazz Studies (IJS) is the largest and most comprehensive library and archives of jazz and jazz-related materials in the world. It is located on the fourth floor of the John Cotton Dana Library at Rutgers University–Newark in Newark, New Jersey, United States. The archival collection contains more than 100,000 sound recordings on CDs, LPs, EPs, 78- and 75-rpm disks, and 6,000 books. It also houses more than 30 instruments used by prominent jazz musicians. The Jazz Studies academic program at Rutgers for music students is separate from the library and is part of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at the university.
