Clemens Flämig
Clemens Flämig (born in 1976) is a German conductor and Stadtsingechores zu Halle. In 2016, in the course of a selection procedure, he was shortlisted alongside for the 17th Thomanerchor after Johann Sebastian Bach. Life Flämig was born in Dresden in 1976 and was a member of the Dresdner Kreuzchor. For his further musical education he received a Rudolf Mauersberger scholarship in 1995. From 1996 to 2003 Flämig studied church music, choir conducting and singing at the music academies in Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim and . Numerous master classes round off his musical education. In 2014 he took part in a further education master choir conducting course with Jörg-Peter Weigle in Berlin. Thomanerchor
The Thomanerchor (English: St. Thomas Choir of Leipzig) is a boys' choir in Leipzig, Germany. The choir was founded in 1212. The choir comprises about 90 boys from 9 to 18 years of age. The members, called ''Thomaner'', reside in a boarding school, the ''Thomasalumnat'' and attend the St. Thomas School, Leipzig, a Gymnasium (school), Gymnasium school with a linguistic profile and a focus on musical education. The Dresdner Kreuzchor is the boys' choir of the Kreuzkirche in Dresden, Germany. It has a seven-century history and a world-wide reputation. Today, the choir has about 150 members between the ages of 9 and 19, from Dresden and the surrounding region. The boys attend the Kreuzschule in Dresden. They are also called "Kruzianer". Jörg-Peter Weigle
Jörg-Peter Weigle (born 1953, in Greifswald), is a German conductor and music professor. He is the uncle of the conductor Sebastian Weigle and the violist Friedemann Weigle. Weigle received his first musical training from 1963 to 1971 as a member of the Thomanerchor in Leipzig. From 1973 to 1978, he studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin, where his teachers included Horst Förster (conducting), Dietrich Knothe (choral conducting) and Ruth Zechlin (counterpoint). He later participated in master classes with Kurt Masur and Witold Rowicki. From 1977 to 1980, Weigle was conductor of the Neubrandenburg State Symphony Orchestra. Gotthold Schwarz (born 2 May 1952) is a German Bass-baritone and conductor. Based in Leipzig, he started as a member of the Thomanerchor and has conducted the Gewandhausorchester.
