Clemens Henricus "Clé" Jeltes (11 March 19243 July 2010) was a Dutch sailor and measurer at seven Olympic games. He was heavily involved with the technical development of the Flying Dutchman The ''Flying Dutchman'' () is a legendary ghost ship, allegedly never able to make port, but doomed to sail the sea forever. The myths and ghost stories are likely to have originated from the 17th-century Golden Age of the Dutch East India C ... and was the driving force to focus at boat measurement to the parameters that really matter. From 1968 until 1992, he was the International FD measurer at seven consecutive Olympic Games, making sure that the sailing took place in correct boats. He was appointed the Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau in 2002 for, among other things, his services to sailing. Nederhorst den Berg () is a village in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. It lies about 8 km northwest of Hilversum in the Vechtstreek area, near the Vecht river. Until 1 January 2002, it was a separate municipality; it is now part of the municipality of Wijdemeren. The village was first mentioned in 1326 as "opten berch", and means "lower height with growth". Neder (lower) could have been added to distinguish from the former castle Hoogerhorst aan de Eem. The height refers to a sandy ridge. The sport of sailing involves a variety of competitive sailing formats that are sanctioned through various sailing federations and yacht clubs. The Flying Dutchman is a Dutch Planing (boat), planing sailing dinghy that was designed by Uus Van Essen and Conrad Gülcher as a high performance, one design Sailing (sport), racer and first built in 1951. The boat was an Olympic sailing classes, Olympic sailing class from 1960 until 1992.
