Clay Handy
Clay Handy is an American businessman and politician who currently serves as a member of the Idaho House of Representatives. Handy has served on the Burley City Council, as a Cassia County commissioner, and on several community advisory boards. Handy is the President and CEO of Handy Truck Line, a regional trucking company. Handy was first elected to the Legislature in 2022. Handy earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Brigham Young University. Fred Wood (politician)
Fredrick Leslie Wood III (born December 1, 1945) is an American physician and politician who served as a member of the Idaho House of Representatives from 2006 to 2022. Early life and education Wood was raised in Homedale, Idaho. Beginning in the eighth grade, Wood attended Georgia Military Academy. He earned his bachelor's degree from Tulane University and his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, after which he served in the United States Air Force. Career Wood moved to Burley in 1977 where he was a practicing physician. From 1996 to 2004, Wood served on the Idaho Fish and Game Commission. When long-time legislator and former Speaker of the Idaho House of Representatives Bruce Newcomb decided to not seek reelection in 2006, Wood entered a four-way race for the Republican nomination which he won. Cassia County is a county in the U.S. state of Idaho. As of the 2020 Census the county had a population of 24,655. The county seat and largest city is Burley. Cassia County is included in the Burley, ID Micropolitan Statistical Area. History The first Europeans explored the Milner area in Cassia County in 1811. It was trappers who initially developed the Oregon Trail, which ran on the county's northern border. The Raft River's junction with the Oregon Trail marked the split for the California Trail. While the Oregon and California trails brought hundreds of thousands of emigrants through Cassia County, it also brought settlers.
