Claudio Carosino
Claudio Carosino, MD (12 March 1951 – 24 October 2010) was an Italian general practitioner and family physician, tutor and mentor engaged in rural medicine. Carosino was shot and killed by a patient while performing a house visit in the rural village of Roncole Verdi in Italy. Early life Always keen on helping the disadvantaged and those in need, he had been an active member of many volunteer organizations since childhood, and spent a few of his high school summers accompanying disabled and ill people to Lourdes with other volunteers of UNITALSI (Unione Nazionale Italiana Trasporto Ammalati a Lourdes e Santuari Internazionali). He attended the High School of Cremona, where he graduated from Liceo Ginnasio Manin in 1970. Busseto
Busseto ( Bussetano: ; Parmigiano: ) is a ''comune'' in the province of Parma, in Emilia-Romagna in Northern Italy with about inhabitants. Its history is quite well documented back to the 10th century, and for almost five hundred years it was the capital of Stato Pallavicino, which eventually became part of the Duchy of Parma. The town is about south of Cremona in Lombardy. Etymology The first written sources give the name as "Buxetum" in the early twelfth century. As such it appears the town's name is cognate with: *buxus as in common box, buxus sempervirens, cognate with places such as Bushey; or *busetum – a shott, fold or pen (fenced clearing) for oxen, cognate with places such as Oxpens. Le Roncole (today known as Roncole Verdi) is a village in the province of Parma (Emilia-Romagna region) of Italy, a ''frazione'' of the ''comune'' of Busseto. It is located 140 km southeast of Milan. The University of Parma () is a public university located in Parma, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Organized into nine departments, it is one of the oldest universities in the world. As of 2016, it had approximately 26,000 students. History During the 13th-14th centuries there was an educational institution, ''studium'', in Parma, but it was closed in 1387 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, Duke of Milan. The university was opened in 1412 by Niccolò III d'Este, and, although no papal bull was issued, the degrees were granted. In 1420 Filippo Maria Visconti closed it again.
