Biography She won three French national championship titles in the shot put (1966, 1967 and 1969) and three championships titles in the discus throw (1967, 1968 and 1969). Three times she improved the French shot put record (14.58m, 15.11m and 15.31m in 1967). She also bettered the record three times in the discus (48.54m, 49.70m in 1967, and 50.82m in 1969). Claudie (André-Deshays) Haigneré (; born 13 May 1957) is a French doctor, politician and former astronaut. She was the Women in space, first female astronaut of the CNES, French space agency CNES and the ESA, European Space Agency (ESA) to go to space. Background and training Born in Le Creusot, Claudie Haigneré studied medicine at the Faculté de Médecine (Hôpital Cochin, Paris-Cochin) and Faculté des Sciences (Paris Diderot University, Paris-VII). Claudie Marcel-Dubois (19 January 1913 – 1 February 1989) was a French ethnomusicologist and pianist. From 1937 until her retirement in 1981, she worked at the Musée national des Arts et Traditions populaires (MNATP) in Paris. She was president of the Société d'ethnologie française from 1978 to 1987. She taught at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. Early life and education Marcel-Dubois was born in Tours. She studied piano at the Conservatoire de Paris from 1926 to 1928, with further studies under Marguerite Long. She studied anthropology and ethnology in the 1930s with Marcel Mauss and Paul Masson-Oursel.
