Claude Garache
Claude Garache (1929-2023) is a French artist. He has worked in painting, sculpture, illustration and engraving. His principal subject is the female nude. Much of his work uses a single colour on a monochrome background, very often blood-red on white. Biography Garache was born in Paris on 20 January 1929. Between 1949 and 1959, he studied sculpture and drawing under the sculptor Robert Coutin. He spent time in the studios of Andre Lhote and Fernand Léger, and also visited Alberto Giacometti and worked in the sculpture studio of the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts.. He travelled frequently in the 1950s, in Europe and to the Middle East and the United States. In 1955, he worked as an artistic advisor to Vincente Minnelli during the filming of '' Lust for Life'', his biography of Vincent van Gogh. Vincente Minnelli
Vincente Minnelli (; born Lester Anthony Minnelli; February 28, 1903 – July 25, 1986) was an American Theatre director, stage director and film director. From a career spanning over half a century, he is best known for his sophisticated innovation and artistry in musical films. , six of his films have been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. Minnelli made his stage debut as an actor in a production of ''East Lynne'', staged by the Minnelli Brothers' Tent Theater (co-founded by his father and paternal uncle). Musée Cantini
The Musée Cantini is a museum in Marseille that has been open to the public since 1936. The museum specializes in modern art, especially paintings from the first half of the twentieth century. The building The musée Cantini building was built in 1694 for the Compagnie du Cap Nègre, specializing in coral fishing on the northern coasts of Tunisia and in the trade of wool, wax and leather. The company ran into financial difficulties and the building was sold in 1709 to Dominique de Montgrand great-grandfather of Jean-Baptiste-Jacques-Guy-Thérèse de Montgrand, future Mayor of Marseille. The building was then sold to Louis Joseph Chaudoin in 1801, and to Dieudonné Bernadac in 1816. The Fonds national d'art contemporain (FNAC; National Foundation for Contemporary Art) is a public collection of contemporary art in France. It does not hold exhibitions but acquires and stores works of art that it loans to museums, cultural institutions and temporary exhibitions in France and abroad. It is the largest collection of contemporary art in France. Collection FNAC is little-known, but is the largest collection of living art in France. Alain Resnais (; 3 June 19221 March 2014) was a French film director and screenwriter whose career extended over more than six decades.
