Classics (Jennifer Rush Album)
''Classics'' is the ninth studio album by American singer Jennifer Rush. Having been classically trained as a singer years earlier, Rush went back to her roots in ''Classics'' and recorded a selection of her past hits with the Hungarian Philharmonic Orchestra. These were vast reworkings of the songs, many of which had been originally uptempo pop tunes and were now slow and dramatic works, such as "Ring of Ice" and "I Come Undone". As well as these, four new songs were included on the collection, including the lead single, "The End of a Journey". The album was released in several European countries, reaching number 34 on the German Albums Chart. The re-recorded version of "Ring of Ice" was released a year later as a promo-only single to coincide with her ''Classics'' tour. Jennifer Rush
Jennifer Rush (born Heidi Stern; September 28, 1960) is an American pop and rock singer. She achieved success during the mid-1980s with several singles and studio albums including the million-selling single " The Power of Love", which she co-wrote and released in 1984. Her greatest success came in Europe, particularly Germany. Early life Rush was born Heidi Stern in the New York City borough of Queens and has two older brothers. Her father, Maurice Stern, is an operatic tenor, voice teacher, and sculptor. Her parents divorced, and she and her brothers lived with their mother only until Rush was a toddler, and then with their father and his second wife on the Upper West Side of the borough of Manhattan. Rush studied violin at the Juilliard School and also took play lessons, although she did not enjoy these instruments and instead took to playing the guitar in private. Gunther Mende (born June 4, 1952 in Wiesbaden Germany) is a German record producer. Life He was six years old when he received his first set of drums. From that point on he loved music. After his Abitur in Mainz, his main subjects were germanistics, politics and philosophy, he worked as a mason and sculptor in the family company. After school, he earned his first money playing the drums in bands all through Germany. In 1976, CBS Frankfurt gave him the opportunity to work as a staff producer. He produced Red Baron with the frontman Candy DeRouge, with whom he continued working after the band broke up. He started writing songs for different kinds of groups and solo artists, like Roy Black and Tommy Steiner, before he discovered Jennifer Rush. Russ DeSalvo is an American producer, arranger, songwriter, and guitarist. DeSalvo works with Celine Dion, Lionel Richie (DeSalvo played guitar and synthesizer on the ''Definitive Collection'' CD), Laura Pausini, and Kyle Archer (guitar on the ''Addin' Somethin' In'' CD). Taylor Laurence Rhodes is an American songwriter, producer, and musician from Nashville, Tennessee, most notable for his work with hard rock band Aerosmith since 1993. Music career 1980s In 1987, Rhodes co-wrote the lead-off minor hit title track from Y&T's album '' Contagious''. Ellen Shipley (born March 24, 1949 in New York City, New York, United States) is an American musician and songwriter. Career At sixteen years old, Shipley got a NYC Cabaret license. Josep Maria Carreras Coll (; born 5 December 1946), better known as José Carreras (, ), is a Spanish operatic tenor who is particularly known for his performances in the operas of Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini.
