Classica-class Cruise Ship
The ''Classica''-class cruise ship is a class of cruise ships originally built for and operated by Costa Cruises. They were built prior to Carnival Corporation & plc Carnival Corporation & plc is a British and American cruise operator with a combined fleet of over ninety vessels across eight cruise line brands. A dual-listed company, Carnival is composed of the Panama-incorporated, US-headquartered Carnival ... purchasing the cruise line in 1997. The first ship was built in 1991 as the ''Costa Classica''. It was followed by a sister ship named the ''Costa Romantica'' in 1993. Both ships were operated by Costa for over 20 years. As of 2021 both ships have since left the fleet. Length between perpendiculars (often abbreviated as p/p, p.p., pp, LPP, LBP or Length BPP) is the length of a ship along the summer load line from the forward surface of the stem, or main bow perpendicular member, to the after surface of the sternpost, or main stern perpendicular member.
