Classic Conference
The Classic Conference is a former high school athletic conference in Wisconsin. Consisting entirely of private schools during its ten year existence from 1973 to 1983, all member schools were affiliated with the Wisconsin Independent Schools Athletic Association. Athletic Conference
An athletic conference is a collection of sports teams which play competitively against each other in a sports league. In many cases conferences are subdivided into smaller Division (sport), divisions, with the best teams competing at successively higher levels. Conferences often, but not always, include teams from a common geographic region. Watertown is a city in Jefferson and Dodge counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The Southern Wisconsin and Illinois Small Schools Conference, more commonly referred to as the SWISS Conference, is a former high school athletic conference. It was in existence from 1982 to 2006, and consisted primarily of private schools in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. History 1982-1996 The SWISS Conference was formed in 1982 by five small private high schools in Wisconsin and Illinois: Heritage Christian School in New Berlin, Keith Country Day School in Rockford, Parkway Christian Academy in Oak Creek, University Lake School in Hartland and Waukegan Christian School. Mount Calvary, Wisconsin
Mount Calvary is a village in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 548 at the 2020 census, down from 762 at the 2010 census. History Mount Calvary's location was chosen by missionary Casper Rehrl; he selected the large hill because of its excellent view and he placed a wood cross. Starting in 1846, settlers started building houses at the base of the hill. Winnebago Lutheran Academy, also known as WLA, is a private Lutheranism, Lutheran high school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, associated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). History WLA was founded in 1925 by St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. After its start at the corner of Second and Marr streets in downtown Fond du Lac next to St. Peter's Church, the academy was moved in 1955 to its current location at 475 E. Merrill Avenue. It is the parent school of WLA Schools, a group of Lutheran grade schools. The schools are located within a radius of Fond du Lac. The Indian Trails Conference is a high school athletic conference with its membership concentrated in southeastern Wisconsin. Originally founded as a conference for small public high schools in 1963, it has seen a high level of turnover among membership over the course of its history and now has mostly private school members.
