Clarke Kelly
Clarke Kelly (born 1987) is a Canadian politician. He is currently the city councillor for West Carleton-March Ward on Ottawa City Council. He was first elected in the 2022 Ottawa municipal election. Early life Kelly grew up in Crown Point in West Carleton Township, living one door down from his current residence. He played youth ice hockey for the West Carleton Warriors and soccer for the West Carleton Talons. He attended elementary school at St. Michaels in Fitzroy Harbour and high school at West Carleton Secondary School. Kelly received a bachelor's degree in political science from Carleton University and a diploma in Communication and Media Studies from Algonquin College. Until June 2022, he worked on Parliament Hill for four years for two Liberal Members of Parliament, Karen McCrimmon and Ryan Turnbull. West Carleton Township
West Carleton was a township municipality in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It was located in the rural parts of what is now the City of Ottawa, west of Kanata. Its northern boundary was the Ottawa River. The township was created in 1974 with the amalgamation of three townships: Torbolton, Fitzroy, and Huntley. In 2001 it was amalgamated with Cumberland, Gloucester, Goulbourn, Kanata, Nepean, Osgoode, Ottawa, Rideau, Rockcliffe Park and Vanier to form the new city of Ottawa. Karen McCrimmon
Karen A. McCrimmon (born 1959) is a Canadian Forces veteran, mediator, and politician who was elected Member of Parliament for Kanata—Carleton in the 2015 Canadian federal election. After a 31-year military career, McCrimmon retired as a lieutenant colonel. She was the first female navigator and the first woman to command a Canadian Forces air force squadron. She became involved in federal politics with the Liberal Party of Canada in 2008. In 2011, McCrimmon was the Liberal candidate for the federal election in the Carleton—Mississippi Mills riding and, in 2013, she unsuccessfully bid for the Liberal leadership. Arnprior, Ontario
Arnprior is a town in Renfrew County, in the eastern portion of Southern Ontario, Canada. It is located west of Downtown Ottawa, at the confluence of the Madawaska River and the Ottawa River in the Ottawa Valley. Arnprior has experienced significant growth in populations with the widening of the 417 Provincial Highway to four lanes. The town experienced an increase in population by 8.4% from 2011 to 2016, at which time its population was 8,795. Mississippi River (Ontario)
The Mississippi River is a tributary of the Ottawa River in Eastern Ontario, Canada which has no relation with the Mississippi River in the United States. It is in length from its source at Mackavoy Lake, has a drainage area of , and has a mean discharge of . There are more than 250 lakes in the watershed. Communities along the river include the village of Lanark, the towns of Carleton Place, Mississippi Mills (including towns of Almonte and Pakenham), and Galetta. Here it enters the Ottawa River. Eli El-Chantiry (born April 23, 1957 in Kab-Elias, Lebanon) is an Ottawa City Councillor and chair of the Ottawa Police Services Board. He was born in Lebanon and moved to Canada with his family at age eighteen. After attending the University of Ottawa, he became a businessman, owning the Lighthouse Restaurant in Constance Bay in West Carleton. El-Chantiry ran for city council in the 2003 Ottawa election to replace retiring Dwight Eastman. He won, defeating retired schoolteacher Adele Muldoon by 29 votes.
