Clarence Breeveld
Clarence Breeveld (11 September 1948 – 6 April 2017) was a Surinamese-born Dutch singer, guitarist and educator. Biography Breeveld was born on 11 September 1948 in Nieuw-Nickerie, Suriname. His parents were ministers of the Moravian Church. He started to work for (the Surinamese joint venture of Alcoa). He started performing music at the age of 13, and performed Kaseko, Gospel and Country music. In the mid 1960s, he won the Surinam Songfestival. In 1970, Breeveld left for the Netherlands for his teaching degree, and started to work as a physics and chemistry teacher on vocational schools. Breeveld married with whom he had previously performed as Hannah en Clarence. In 1998, Belliot would become chairperson of the Amsterdam-Zuidoost borough. They would remain married for twenty years. Nieuw-Nickerie
Nieuw Nickerie. Retrieved 17 November 2009. is the third largest city in Suriname with a population estimated at . It is the capital city of the Nickerie district, and the terminus of the East-West Link. December Murders
The December murders (Dutch: ''Decembermoorden'') were the murders on 7, 8, and 9 December 1982, of fifteen prominent young Surinamese men who had criticized the military dictatorship then ruling Suriname. Thirteen of these men were arrested on December 7 between 2 am and 5 am while sleeping in their homes (according to reports by the families of the victims). The other two were Surendre Rambocus and Jiwansingh Sheombar who were already imprisoned for attempting a counter-coup in March 1982. Soldiers of Dési Bouterse ( dictator of Suriname at the time), took them to Fort Zeelandia (at that time Bouterse's headquarters), where they were heard as "suspects in a trial" by Bouterse and other sergeants in a self-appointed court. After these "hearings" they were tortured and shot dead. The circumstances remain unclear. Borger Breeveld
Borger Breeveld (born 20 July 1944) is a Surinamese actor and journalist. He is the media manager at the Surinam Television Foundation (STVS) and founder of Film Institute Paramaribo. In the Surinamese-Dutch film '' Wan Pipel'' (1976), Breeveld starred as Roy Ferrol. In the 1980s, Breeveld was spokesman of Dési Bouterse. Together with Arie Verkuijl and Pim de la Parra, Breeveld established the Film Institute Paramaribo (FIP). He is the secretary of the foundation Surinamese Film Academy. In STVS, Breeveld operates as a television director which include current affairs program ''Mmanten Taki''. The Honorary Order of the Yellow Star (Dutch: ''Ere-Orde van de Gele Ster'') is the highest state decoration of the Republic of Suriname. The Order was instituted in 1975 at the independence of Suriname and replaced the Dutch Order of the Netherlands Lion. It is awarded to individuals for their meritorious service to the Surinamese people or nation. Foreigners are also eligible to receive the order. Atlantic Slave Trade
The Atlantic slave trade, transatlantic slave trade, or Euro-American slave trade involved the transportation by slave traders of enslaved African people, mainly to the Americas. The slave trade regularly used the triangular trade route and its Middle Passage, and existed from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Amsterdam-Zuidoost (; "Amsterdam-Southeast") is a borough (''stadsdeel'') of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
