Clara Tabody
Clara Tabody (born Klára Lívia Thurmayer) (1915–1986) was a Hungarian actress, singer and dancer. She starred in both the stage version of the operetta '' Mask in Blue'' and its 1943 film adaptation. She worked for many years in Germany where at one point the studio Tobis Film briefly tried to build her up as a rival to her fellow Hungarian Marika Rökk, then working for UFA.Noack p.202 After marrying an Italian she principally settled in that country. Her sister Ida Turay was also an actress, known for her starring roles in Hungarian films. Rákospalota (literally: ''Castle ponRákos rook', german: Palota) is a neighbourhood in Budapest, Hungary. With Pest-újhely and Új-palota it comprises District XV. History In the early Middle Ages there were about six villages in the northern part of the Rákos plain. About 1200 A.D. a church was built on the little hill next to the Szilas brook - the ancestor of the present Catholic chapel. The first name of the village was Nyír (Birch) but later it became known as Palota (Palace) after the castle of the landowner. Marika Rökk (; born Marie Karoline Rökk, 3 November 1913 – 16 May 2004) was a German-Austrian dancer, singer and actress of Hungarian descent who gained prominence in German films in the Nazi era. She resumed her career in 1947 and was one of Europe's most famous operetta singers, performing onstage until 1986.
