Ystad
Ystad (; older da, Ysted) is a town and the seat of Ystad Municipality, in Scania County, Sweden. Ystad had 18,350 inhabitants in 2010. The settlement dates from the 11th century and has become a busy ferryport, local administrative centre, and tourist attraction. The detective series ''Wallander'', created by Henning Mankell, is set primarily in Ystad. In 1285, the town's name was written ''Ystath''. Its original meaning is not fully understood, but the ''y'' probably is related to an old word for the yew tree, while ''stad'' means ''town'' or ''place''. Swedish ( ) is a North Germanic language spoken predominantly in Sweden and in parts of Finland. ''The Phantom'' is an American adventure comic strip, first published by Lee Falk in February 1936. The main character, the Phantom, is a fictional costumed crime-fighter who operates from the fictional African country of Bangalla. The character has been adapted for television, film and video games. The series began with a daily newspaper strip on February 17, 1936, followed by a color Sunday strip on May 28, 1939; both are still running as of . In 1966, King Features stated that ''The Phantom'' was being published in 583 newspapers worldwide. At its peak, the strip was read by over 100 million people daily. Falk worked on ''The Phantom'' until his death in 1999; since his death, the comic strip has been written by Tony DePaul. Hans Lindahl
Hans Lindahl (born October 15, 1954) is a Swedish comic book artist, best known for his work on the series ''The Phantom''. His work on the ''Phantom'' has been published in countries like Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, England, Australia and Brazil. Biography Lindahl started out as a ''Phantom'' artist in 1982, with the story ''The Zombie League''. His cinematic, detailed style of drawing immediately grew popular with readers, and today, he is probably the most popular artist drawing for the Swedish Phantom comic (''Fantomen'' in Swedish). Hans, or "Hasse"/"Hazze", as fans have nicknamed him, is known for a methodic approach to his work, often spending up to 10 weeks to finish the artwork for a story. Hans also paints covers for the magazines, many of which have won the readers' award for Best Cover of the Year. In 1998, Hans also started to write ''Phantom'' stories. Urhunden Prizes
Urhunden Prizes have been given out each year by the Swedish Comics Association (''Svenska Seriefrämjandet'') since 1987. There are three categories: Best Swedish (Domestic) Album of the Year (1987–2005), Best Foreign Album of the Year (1987–2005), and the "Unghunden" for best children and youth comics (1994–2005). The award is named after the Swedish cartoon strip "Urhunden" which was created by Oskar Emil "O.A." Andersson (1877–1906), who was one of the pioneers in Swedish comics. It featured a prehistoric man in modern surroundings. The title character was a mixture of a dog and a dinosaur, with erratic and often drastic behavior.
