Civil Democratic Current
The Civil Democratic Current (also called the Democratic Alliance for Civil Forces and the Democratic Civilian Alliance) is an alliance of political parties that would have run for the 2015 Egyptian parliamentary election, but it withdrew. The alliance is working with other parties, including the New Wafd Party, to attempt to amend the current parliamentary election law, which limits the number of party list seats to 120 of 567 total seats. The alliance intends to form a "united national front" with more parties in preparation for the 2018 presidential election. The alliance seems to be replaced by the similarly named Civil Democratic Movement (2017). The active alliance includes various parties that were also involved in this alliance; namely, the Constitution Party, the Dignity Party, Socialist Popular Alliance Party, Egyptian Social Democratic Party and the Bread and Freedom Party. Secularism is the principle of seeking to conduct human affairs based on naturalistic considerations, uninvolved with religion. It is most commonly thought of as the separation of religion from civil affairs and the state and may be broadened to a similar position seeking to remove or to minimize the role of religion in any public sphere. Bread And Freedom Party
The Bread and Freedom Party (; '' Hizb AlEish WaAlHorria''), also translated as the Bread and Liberty Party, is a democratic socialist party in Egypt created by former members of the Socialist Popular Alliance Party. The party is not registered as of 10 February 2014. 280 members from the Socialist Popular Alliance Party gave their resignations in early November 2013, though the resignations were rejected by Abdel Ghafar Shukr, the head of the party. The Daily News Egypt site gives the number of resigning members as 304. The Egyptian Socialist Party () is a political party in Egypt which was founded by some Egyptian socialists after the 2011 Egyptian revolution.
