Civil Democratic Current
The Civil Democratic Current (also called the Democratic Alliance for Civil Forces and the Democratic Civilian Alliance) is an alliance of political parties that would have run for the 2015 Egyptian parliamentary election, but it withdrew. The alliance is working with other parties, including the New Wafd Party, to attempt to amend the current parliamentary election law, which limits the number of party list seats to 120 of 567 total seats. The alliance intends to form a "united national front" with more parties in preparation for the 2018 presidential election. The alliance seems to be replaced by the similarly named Civil Democratic Movement (2017). The active alliance includes various parties that were also involved in this alliance; namely, the Constitution Party, the Dignity Party, Socialist Popular Alliance Party, Egyptian Social Democratic Party and the Bread and Freedom Party. Secularism is the principle of seeking to conduct human affairs based on secular, naturalistic considerations. Bread And Freedom Party
The Bread and Freedom Party ( ar, حزب العيش والحرية; '' Hizb AlEish WaAlHorria''), also translated as the Bread and Liberty Party, is a democratic socialist party in Egypt created by former members of the Socialist Popular Alliance Party. The party is not registered as of 10 February 2014. 280 members from the Socialist Popular Alliance Party gave their resignations in early November 2013, though the resignations were rejected by Abdel Ghafar Shukr, the head of the party. The Daily News Egypt site gives the number of resigning members as 304. The resigning members criticized their former party for aligning itself with the military during the transitional period and defending the actions of the police. The Egyptian Socialist Party (''El-Hizb El-Ishtiraki El-Masri'') is a political party in Egypt which was founded by some Egyptian socialists after the 2011 Egyptian revolution. Egyptian Social Democratic Party
The Egyptian Social Democratic Party ( ar-at, الحزب المصرى الديمقراطى الاجتماعى, al-Ḥizb al-Maṣrī al-Dimuqrāṭī al-Ijtmāʿī, ) is a social liberal and a social democratic party in Egypt. It was founded after the 2011 Egyptian Revolution by the merger of two minor liberal parties, the Liberal Egyptian Party, and the Egyptian Democratic Party on 29 March 2011.
