The Civil Administrator of Mount Athos () is the civil head of government of the territory of the monastic community of Mount Athos, an autonomous region in northern Greece. His seat is Karyes, Mount Athos. There are several other offices established in Thessaloniki and Ouranoupoli. Since 3 September 2019, the incumbent Civil Administrator is the businessman and '' Archon Offikialios'' of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, Athanasios Martinos. General Alkiviadis Stefanis () is a Greek politician, retired officer of the Greek Armed Forces. He served as Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff from 2017 to 2019. Thanasis Martinos (born 1950) is a Greek shipowner and owner of Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Limited (Eastmed). Early life and Career Thanasis Martinos was born in Athens in February 1950. Since 1971, he has been working at the newly established family-owned shipping company, Thenamaris Ships Management, founded by his mother. In 1974, he completed his studies in Shipping in London and in Economics at the University of Athens. By 1975, Thenamaris controlled a fleet of 36 vessels, with a total carrying capacity of 850,000 tons. In 1991, Martinos left the company to found Eastern Mediterranean Maritime (EastMed). Giorgios Dalakouras (; 8 July 1938 – 8 July 2021) was a Greek politician, shipowner and businessman. Karyes, Mount Athos
Karyes () is a settlement in Mount Athos of the Athonite monastic community. The 2021 Greek census reported a population of 135 inhabitants. It is the largest settlement in Mount Athos. The major church at Karyes is the Protaton, which is the church of the Protos, or president of the monastic community. The famed Axion Estin icon is kept at the Protaton. Each of the twenty monasteries of Mount Athos also has a ''konaki'', or representative's residence, at Karyes.
