The is a series of automobiles manufactured by Honda since 1972. , the Civic is positioned between the Honda Fit/Honda City, City and Honda Accord in Honda's global passenger car line-up. Civic engagement or civic participation is any individual or group activity addressing issues of public concern. Civic engagement includes communities working together or individuals working alone in both political and non-political actions to protect public values or make a change in a community. The goal of civic engagement is to address public concerns and promote the quality of the community. Civic engagement is "a process in which people take collective action to address issues of public concern" and is "instrumental to democracy". Underrepresentation of groups in the government causes issues faced by groups such as minority, low-income, and younger groups to be overlooked or ignored. Civic Center
A civic center or civic centre is a prominent land area within a community that is constructed to be its focal point or center. It usually contains of one or more dominant public buildings, which may also include a government building. Recently, the term "civic center" has been used in reference to an entire central business district of a community or a major shopping center in the middle of a community. In this type of civic center, special attention is paid to the way public structures are grouped and landscaped. In some American cities, a multi-purpose arena is named "Civic Center", for example Columbus Civic Center. Such "civic centers" combine venues for sporting events, theaters, concerts and similar events. Civic Nationalism
Civic nationalism, otherwise known as democratic nationalism, is a form of nationalism that adheres to traditional liberal values of freedom, tolerance, equality, and individual rights, and is not based on ethnocentrism. Civic nationalists often defend the value of national identity by saying that individuals need it as a partial shared aspect of their identity (an upper identity) in order to lead meaningful, autonomous lives and that democratic polities need a national identity to function properly. Civic, Christchurch
The Civic was a building in Manchester Street, Christchurch Central City, central Christchurch, that was erected in 1900 and demolished in 2011. It was first used as an exhibition hall, then as a cinema, and then a theatre, before being gutted by fire in 1917. The northern part of the building was purchased by Christchurch City Council (CCC) and opened as the civic office in 1924, and served this purpose until 1980. After that it had several uses, including a restaurant, bar and live music venue. The building was heavily damaged in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake, and was demolished. Civic is the city centre or central business district of Canberra. "Civic" is a common name for the district, but it is also called Civic Centre, City Centre, Canberra City and Canberra, and its official division name is ''City''. Civic are an Australian rock band, formed in 2017 in Melbourne. The band consists of Jim McCullough, Lewis Hodgson, Roland Hlavka and Eli Sthapit. History The idea for the band formed after Jim McCullough and Darcy Grigg were in a bowling alley in Japan in 2016. In 2017, McCullough and Grigg got together with Roland Hlavka and Lewis Hodgson. Shortly after, David Forcier joined and the band was formed. The band's concept was to "do good rock and roll and not to stuff about with it". Campaign For Innocent Victims In Conflict
The Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC) is a Washington, D.C.–based non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) that works with political and community actors to mitigate civilian harm during conflict. Once known as the CIVIC was founded in 2003 by Marla Ruzicka as the Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict, later renamed to focus their work on civilians. James Edgar Davis (February 8, 1889 – June 20, 1949) was an American police officer who served as the Chief of Police, chief of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) from 1926 to 1929, and from 1933 to 1939.
