Civic Platform (Serbia)
The Civic Platform (, GP) is a liberal political organization in Serbia. It was formed in 2017, by former members of the Enough is Enough (DJB) organization. It had two MPs from its foundation until the 2020 parliamentary election, which it boycotted. It was the founding member of the Alliance for Serbia and was briefly a member of the United for the Victory of Serbia alliance. History The Civic Platform was founded in April 2017 by assembly members Aleksandra Čabraja, Sonja Pavlović and Jovan Jovanović, all of whom had been elected in the 2016 Serbian parliamentary election on the DJB electoral list. In announcing its formation, Jovanović indicated that the Civic Platform was also supported by citizens and by thirteen councillors in central Belgrade. Jovan Jovanović (politician)
Jovan Jovanović ( sr-Cyrl, Јован Јовановић; born 10 June 1970) is a Serbian politician and diplomat. He has served in the National Assembly of Serbia since 2016, originally with the reformist Enough is Enough (party), It's Enough – Restart association and later with the Civic Platform (Serbia), Civic Platform. Jovanović was previously Serbia's ambassador to Indonesia and several other countries in Southeast Asia. Sonja Pavlović
Sonja Pavlović ( sr-Cyrl, Соња Павловић; born 1957) is a politician in Serbia. She served in the National Assembly of Serbia from 2016 to 2020, originally as a member of the reformist Enough Is Enough association and later with the Civic Platform. Early life and private career Pavlović is a graduate of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Architecture (1985). She has worked on more than one hundred design projects, has owned the ARHIDUR project bureau in Belgrade since 2010, and has participated in the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts's contest for improving the city's Sava amphitheater. She lives in Belgrade. 2022 Serbian General Election
General elections were held in Serbia on 3 April 2022 to elect both the president of Serbia and members of the National Assembly. Initially, parliamentary elections were scheduled to be held in 2024; however, in October 2020 president Aleksandar Vučić said that snap parliamentary elections would be held in or before April 2022. In addition to the general elections, local elections were held simultaneously in 12 municipalities and 2 cities, including Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) came to power after the 2012 election when it formed a coalition government with the Socialist Party of Serbia. 2017 Serbian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Serbia on 2 April 2017. Incumbent president Tomislav Nikolić was eligible to run for a second five-year term, but opted not to do so. Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić was elected president in the first round. The election was marred by accusations of voter intimidation and a near total domination of the Serbian media by Vučić and his party. Saša Janković ( sr-cyr, Саша Јанковић, ; born 27 April 1970) is a Serbian lawyer, journalist, human rights activist and politician who served as the National Ombudsman of the Republic of Serbia between 2007 and 2017.
