Civic Democratic Party (Serbia)
The Civic Democratic Party ( sr-cyrl, Грађанска демократска партија, Građanska demokratska partija; abbr. ГДП / GDP) was a Serbian political party that existed from 2023 to 2024. It joined the '' Serbia Against Violence'' (SPN) coalition on 3 November 2023 and took part in Serbia's December 2023 elections at the republican, provincial, and local levels. Its leader was Dr. Miroslav Ilić. The GDP was closely associated with the Movement of Free Citizens (PSG). All of the GDP-endorsed candidates who were elected in the 2023 Serbian parliamentary election and the 2023 Belgrade City Assembly election were members of the PSG, and both of the GDP-endorsed candidates elected in the 2023 Vojvodina provincial election later joined the PSG. (The PSG was not a registered political party at the time of the 2023 elections and could not formally endorse its own candidates under Serbia's election law.) Miroslav Ilić (politician)
Miroslav Ilić ( sh-Cyrl, Мирослав Илић; born 10 December 1950) is a Serbian singer. Born in the village of Mrčajevci near Čačak, he made his recording debut whilst still in elementary school. Ilić came to prominence upon the release of his 1972 single "Voleo Sam Devojku Iz Grada". Referred to as the "Nightingale from Mrčajevci" (''Slavuj iz Mrčajevaca''), Ilić is known for referencing the ethos of his native region, Šumadija, in his songs. With sales of over eight million records in the former Yugoslavia, he is one of the most commercially successful Serbian folk singers of all time. Moreover, his 1982 album was sold in 900,000 copies, becoming the third best-selling studio album from the SFR Yugoslavia. In December 2022, Ilić celebrated fifty years of his career in music by performing two consecutive concerts in the Štark Arena, Belgrade Arena.
