Ciudad de Catamayo Airport, formerly known as Camilo Ponce Enriquez Airport is an airport serving Loja, the capital of the Loja Province in southern Ecuador. Its name was changed from Camilo Ponce Enriquez Airport (after a former president of the country) to Ciudad de Catamayo Airport on 13 May 2013. The airport is at Catamayo, a city in a mountain valley west of Loja. There is rising terrain south of the airport, and mountainous terrain in all other quadrants. The Loja non-directional beacon (Ident: LOJ) is located on the field. Several sources still list the airport ICAO code as SETM. Loja, Ecuador
Loja (), formerly Loxa and fully City of the Immaculate Conception of Loja (), is the capital of Ecuador's Loja Province. It is located in the Cuxibamba valley in the south of the country, sharing borders with the provinces of Zamora-Chinchipe and other cantons of the province of Loja. Loja holds a rich tradition in the arts, and for this reason is known as the Music and Cultural Capital of Ecuador. The city is home to two major universities. The Vickers Viscount is a retired British medium-range turboprop airliner first flown in 1948 by Vickers-Armstrongs. A design requirement from the Brabazon Committee, it entered service in 1953 and was the first turboprop-powered airliner. It is located on the site of the former Howard Air Force Base, a United States Air Force base that was within the Panama Canal Zone. Mariscal Sucre International Airport is an international airport serving Quito, Ecuador. It is the busiest airport in Ecuador. It is located in the Tababela parish, about east of Quito, and because of its location it is also colloquially known as Tababela Airport.
