Citra (India)
Citra was a clear Lemon-lime drink, lemon- and lime-flavoured soda sold in India in the 1980s and early 1990s. Citra was owned by Parle Bisleri. Along with other Parle brands, Thums Up, Limca, Gold Spot and Maaza, Citra was sold to Coca-Cola in 1993 in a deal that was reportedly worth $40 million. At the time of sale, the Parle brands together had a 60% market share in the aerated water industry. The brand was strong in South India. Citra was phased out by the year 2000 to make way for Coke's international brand, Sprite (soft drink), Sprite. In 1998, Coke introduced a new drink in the United States, US market also called Citra which was later renamed Fanta Citrus. Although the brand name was similar, this was a totally different grapefruit-based formula. ''Citrus'' is a genus of flowering trees and shrubs in the family Rutaceae. The ''Reading Eagle'' is the major daily newspaper in Reading, Pennsylvania. A family-owned newspaper until the spring of 2019, its reported circulation is 37,000 (daily) and 50,000 (Sundays). It serves the Reading and Berks County region of Pennsylvania. A soft drink (see § Terminology for other names) is a class of non-alcoholic drink, usually (but not necessarily) carbonated, and typically including added sweetener. Flavors used to be natural, but now can also be artificial. Fanta Citrus
Citra was a grapefruit-flavored soft drink released into the U.S. market in 1996 by The Coca-Cola Company around the same time as Surge, another citrus-flavored soft drink marketed by Coca-Cola (although Surge contained caffeine while Citra was caffeine-free). Citra had a very similar flavor to Fresca, especially the version of Fresca sold in Latin America, which is sweetened with sucrose (table sugar) rather than aspartame as in the American version of Fresca. It also had a flavor similar to Squirt, except that Squirt contains a trace of orange or tangerine flavoring. Citra also had a very similar flavor to that of Canfield's 50/50. Sprite (soft Drink)
Sprite is a clear, lemon-lime flavored soft drink created by the Coca-Cola Company. Sprite comes in additional flavors, including cranberry, cherry, grape, orange, tropical, ginger, and vanilla. ''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932 by P. Varadarajulu Naidu. It is headquartered in Noida, owned by the ''Indian Express Group''.
