Citadelcross Namur
The Cyclo-cross Namur, also called the Citadelcross, is a cyclo-cross race in Namur, Belgium. The track is on the hills around the citadel there. First held in 2009, it was originally part of the Gazet van Antwerpen Trophy The Cyclo-cross Trophy (), also known as X²O Badkamers Trophy (), is a Belgian cyclo-cross racing series currently sponsored by X²O Badkamers (X²O Bathrooms). Laurens Sweeck
Laurens Sweeck (born 17 December 1993) is a Belgian cyclo-cross and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team for road racing and Crelan–Fristads for cyclo-cross. He represented his nation in the men's elite event at the 2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Heusden-Zolder. Sweeck is the grandson of former cyclist Alfons Sweeck. His twin brother Diether Sweeck and his older brother Hendrick Sweeck are also professional cyclists. 2013–14 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup
The 2013–2014 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup events and season-long competition took place between 20 October 2013 and 26 January 2014, sponsored by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The men's competition was won by the Dutchman Lars van der Haar, who also won three of the seven races. World Champion Sven Nys was quickly out of competition for the general classification after having several mechanical problems in the first race, resulting in him giving up, and a total off-day in the second race where he only finished 22nd. Previous World Cup winner Niels Albert, of Belgium, won two races, but still finished only third in the general after his German teammate Philipp Walsleben; Walsleben did not win any of the races, but consistently ranked highly, grabbing four podium spots. Philipp Walsleben (born 19 November 1987) is a German former racing cyclist, who rode professionally in cyclo-cross and road racing between 2006 and 2021 for the Team Notebooksbilliger.de, Heinz Von Heiden–Focus and teams. During his cyclo-cross career, Walsleben won the world under-23 title in 2009 and the German national title on six occasions. The 2014–2015 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup events and season-long competition took place between 10 October 2014 and 26 January 2014, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The men's competition took place without the Belgian Niels Albert, twice the winner, who announced his retirement from the sport in May, 2014 because of a heart condition. Katie Compton of the United States had dominated the women's competition last year and was attempting to defend her title. The third round held in Milton Keynes, England was notable for being the first time that a World Cup event had been held outside of mainland Europe. The 2015–2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup events and season-long competition will take place between 16 September 2015 and 24 January 2016, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). With CrossVegas, this season featured the first World Cup cross outside Europe. Defending champions are Kevin Pauwels in the men's competition and Sanne Cant in the women's competition. Points distribution Points are awarded to all eligible riders each race. Kevin Pauwels (born 12 April 1984 in Ekeren) is a Belgium, Belgian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2019 for the and teams. Pauwels retired on 24 February 2019 after winning the Sluitingsprijs Oostmalle. Pauwels' elder brother, Tim Pauwels was also a professional cyclo-cross racer but died during a race in Erpe-Mere in 2004. The 2016–2017 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup – also known as the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup for sponsorship reasons – was a season long cyclo-cross competition, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The competition took place between 21 September 2016 and 22 January 2017, over a total of nine events. The defending champions were Wout van Aert in the men's competition and Sanne Cant in the women's competition. Van Aert was able to defend his World Cup title with a round to spare, not finishing any lower than second in the seven races – four wins and three second-place finishes – prior to his crowning. The 2017–18 Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup was a season long cyclo-cross competition, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup took place between 17 September 2017 and 28 January 2018, over a total of nine events. The defending champions were Wout van Aert in the men's competition and Sophie de Boer in the women's competition. Both elite titles were won at the penultimate round of the season at Nommay. Despite finishing twelfth in the race, Sanne Cant won the women's title after her closest rival Kaitlin Keough finished the Nommay race in second behind compatriot Katie Compton. Cant was the only female rider to win more than once, winning five times during the season. The 2018–19 Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup was a season long cyclo-cross competition, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Corné van Kessel (born 7 August 1991) is a Dutch professional cyclo-cross and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Cyclo-cross team Team Deschacht–Group Hens–Containers Maes. Career Van Kessel was born in Veldhoven.
