''Cinta dalam Sepotong Roti'' ( English: ''Love in a Slice of Bread'') is a 1991 Indonesian road film directed by Garin Nugroho. The film was later adapted into a novel of the same name by novelist Fira Basuki and stars Adjie Massaid, Monica Oemardi, Tio Pakusadewo and Rizky Erzet Teo. Subsequently, the film won a Citra Award for Best Film at the 1991 Indonesian Film Festival. Plot Mayang, Harris and Topan are good friends since childhood. Mayang, a columnist in a female magazine, has been married to Harris, a professional, while Topan is still single and a photographer. When Mayang and Harris go on a vacation to solve their sexual problem in their marriage. Topan is invited to join them. On the trip, the problems of the three friends unravel. Garin Nugroho
Garin Nugroho Riyanto (born 6 June 1961) is an Indonesian film director. Biography Nugroho was born in Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta on 6 June 1961. He was the fourth child of postal workers Soetjipto Amin and Mariah, who eventually had seven children. As a child, he attended an Islamic elementary school, later attending Catholic secondary schools. His father owned a lending library and enjoyed writing, leading Nugroho to start writing from a young age; he later quit writing because he felt his father to be too critical. He also enjoyed exploring, and would bathe in the Code River fed by the cold lahar runoffs from Mount Merapi; he notes that the sulfur, which was brought to the river by the lava, was good for his skin. Arguably her most famous work is her trilogy debut consisting of ''Jendela-Jendela'' (''The Windows''), ''Pintu'' (''The Door'') and ''Atap'' (''The Roof'').
