''Cinema Cinema'' is a 1979 quasi-documentary of the Indian people, Indian film world (Bollywood), written and directed by Krishna Shah. The movie was Shah's fourth as feature film director, following the disastrous ''Shalimar (1978 film), Shalimar''. Overview ''Cinema Cinema'' was released on 27 July 1979 in India and in October 1979 in the US. The documentary features original interviews with notable Indian film stars, including Zeenat Aman, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Hema Malini. The narrative is staged to present the history of Hindi-language cinema while exploring various political themes of the 20th century, all through the reactions and interactions of a typical Indian people, Indian theatre audience of the 70s. Krishna Shah hired the highly regarded Kamleshwar (writer), Kamleshwar for the Hindi-language version of the screenplay, while Parallel cinema, Parallel Cinema veteran K.K. Krishna Shah
Krishna Shah (10 May 1938 – 13 October 2013) was an Indian-American/Gujarati people, Gujarati film and theatre director, screenwriter, playwright, producer, and Filmmaking#Production, production/Film distribution, distribution executive. Shah was considered the first Indian people, Indian to create the crossover between Bollywood and Hollywood. Parallel cinema, or New Indian Cinema, is a film movement in Cinema of India, Indian cinema that originated in the state of West Bengal in the 1950s as an alternative to the mainstream commercial Indian cinema. Vanraj Bhatia (Hindi: वनराज भाटिया ; 31 May 1927 – 7 May 2021) was an Indian composer best known for his work in Indian New Wave cinema. He was also one of the leading composers of Western classical music in India.
