The Italian Environmental Film Festival (in Italian: ''Festival CinemAmbiente'' or ''Festival internazionale di cinema e cultura ambientale'') is an important Italian film festival founded in 1998 and taking place every year in Turin, Italy. It is a member of the Environmental Film Festival Network, which is an association of international festivals in environmental issues. Justin Pemberton is a documentary filmmaker based in New Zealand. Life and career Pemberton's adaptation of economist Thomas Piketty’s NY Times bestseller ''Capital in the Twenty-First Century'' premièred at the 2019 Sydney Film Festival and expanded to a worldwide release in 2020. The film has a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2016 Pemberton co-wrote and directed a film about rugby player Richie McCaw called ''Chasing Great'', which topped the New Zealand box office with a record-breaking opening weekend and went on to become the highest grossing New Zealand documentary of all time. Fredrik Gertten (born 3 April 1956 in Malmö) is a Swedish filmmaker, producer and journalist, best known for documentaries investigating global patterns of kleptocracy, lobbyism, financialization and extractivism. Yorgos Avgeropoulos (; born 1971) is a Greek journalist and documentary filmmaker. He is the creator of the Greek awarded documentary series ''"Exandas"''. He was born in Athens in 1971. He has worked for Greek television stations covering news stories in Greece and major events around the world. He has also worked as a war correspondent in the wars in Bosnia, Croatia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and Palestine. In 2000, he created the documentary series ''"Exandas"'' (meaning sextant) which has won many awards in film festivals and documentary festivals in Greece and around the world and is currently broadcast on Greek public television. Christian Frei (born 1959 in Schönenwerd, Solothurn) is a Swiss filmmaker and film producer. He is mostly known for his films '' War Photographer'' (2001), '' The Giant Buddhas'' (2005) and '' Space Tourists'' (2009). Frei has been an associate lecturer on Reflection Competence at the University of St. Gallen from 2006 to 2023. From 2006 to 2009 he was president of the "Documentary Film Commission" for the film section of the Swiss Federal Office of Culture, and from 2010 to 2022 he had held the position of President of the Swiss Film Academy.
