Cian Madden
Cian Madden (born 29 October 1999) in an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays as a wing forward for Gowna and the Cavan county team. Playing career Club Brady joined the Gowna club and later progressed to the club's senior team. In 2021, Gowna reached the final of the Cavan Senior Football Championship for the first time since 2007, and faced Ramor United on 7 November. Madden scored 3 points in a low-scoring draw. Madden started the replay seven days later, scoring four frees as a strong start led Ramor to the title. Gowna returned to the final the next year, where they faced Killygarry on 16 October. Madden scored five points as Gowna claimed their first title in 20 years, and was also named man of the match. Madden scored three points in the Ulster quarter-final against Enniskillen Gaels as the match ended in a draw. Gowna GFC
Gowna are a Gaelic football club based in the village of Loch Gowna, County Cavan, Ireland. History GAA has been present in the local Gowna area since as early as 1889 and the club went under the name of Scrabby West Breffnians or 'Breffnies' as they were otherwise known. Gowna's first major football success came in 1916 in the form of a junior championship. Gowna GFC, as we know it today, was officially reformed in 1976 and has gone through some major developmental change. The 'post reform' park was officially opened in 1982 and was revamped in 2011 to stand as it is today. After reforming in 1976, Gowna claimed the Junior title in 1982 and won the Intermediate in 1985. Gowna reached the final of the Senior Championship in 1988, where they defeated Laragh United to claim the club's first senior title. The 2023 Cavan Senior Football Championship was the 114th edition of Cavan GAA's premier Gaelic football tournament for senior graded clubs in County Cavan, Ireland. The tournament consists of 12 teams, with the winner going on to represent Cavan in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship began on 17 August 2023. Gowna entered the championship as defending champions, and reached the final against Kingscourt Stars. Gowna won the final by seventeen points to successfully defend their title. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals.
