Choei Sato
is a former Japanese football player and manager. He played for Japan national team. Club career Sato was born in Yamagata Prefecture on April 15, 1951. After graduating from Chuo University, he joined Furukawa Electric in 1974. He debuted in 1976 and the club won Japan Soccer League and Emperor's Cup. The club also won 1985–86 Japan Soccer League, 1986 JSL Cup. He retired in 1988. He played 142 games in the league. National team career On July 21, 1978, Sato debuted for Japan national team against Malaysia. Coaching career After retirement, Sato started coaching career at Furukawa Electric (later ''JEF United Ichihara'') in 1991 and he coached until 1994. In 1995, he moved to Shimizu S-Pulse. Takano Chōei
was a prominent scholar of ''Rangaku'' (western science) during the Bakumatsu period in Japan. Life Chōei was born as Gotō Kyōsai, the third son of Gotō Sōsuke, a middle-ranking samurai in Mizusawa Domain of Mutsu Province in what is now part of Iwate Prefecture. At an early age, however, he was adopted by his uncle Takano Gensai who had studied medicine under Sugita Genpaku and influenced Chōei to follow in the same profession. He first studied medicine in Edo in 1820 after winning money in a lottery that he used to pay his way. There he first studied under Sugita Hakugen, then Yoshida Chōshuku, who gave him the name Chōei. After the death of his teacher in 1824 he took over some of the teaching duties in the school. A year later he left for Nagasaki to study under Philipp Franz von Siebold.
