Chuvit Kamolvisit
Chuwit Kamolvisit (; ; born 29 August 1961) is a controversial Thai politician who was once the country's biggest massage parlour owner, known as the "tub tycoon". After an arrest in 2003, he publicly claimed that he paid large bribes to many Thai police officers. He then sold some of his massage parlors, formed his own political party and unsuccessfully ran for Bangkok governor in August 2004. In 2005 he was elected for a four-year term to the Thai House of Representatives, but in 2006 the Constitutional Court removed him from parliament. In October 2008 he again ran for governor of Bangkok as an independent but was not elected. In the July 2011 general election his party won four seats in the House of Representatives. 2008 Bangkok Gubernatorial Election
The 2008 Bangkok gubernatorial election was held on 5 October 2008, this was the eighth election for the governorship of Bangkok. The incumbent Democrat governor, Apirak Kosayothin, won the election, securing a second consecutive four-year term. Of a total of 4,087,329 eligible voters, 2,214,320 voted, giving a turnout rate of 54.18 percent, lower than the 70 percent target expected by the Election Committee. Sixteen candidates contested the election. Apirak, candidate for the opposition Democrat Party, was seen as the favourite. Thai Nation Party, or Chart Thai Party (, ) was a conservative political party in Thailand. It was dissolved by the Constitutional Court of Thailand on December 2, 2008, along with the People's Power Party and the Neutral Democratic Party, for having violated electoral laws in the 2007 Thai general election. Thereafter, most MPs founded the Chartthaipattana Party (Thai Nation Development Party), which became the Thai Nation Party's successor. Chuvit Garden
file:2021_สวนชูวิทย์_Chuvit_Garden.jpg, Chuvit Garden, closed, as of 2021 Chuvit Garden (also known as Chuwit Park) was a private park in Bangkok, at Sukhumvit Road, Sukhumvit Soi 10. It was created in 2006 by Chuwit Kamolvisit who owns the area. The block was formerly known as Sukhumvit Square. The park was open to the public daily from 08:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00. In the early hours of 26 January 2003 about 120 bars and other businesses on this plot of land were demolished. Chuwit was accused of having masterminded this action to get rid of unwanted tenants. In an interview in 2004, he admitted to having paid police to carry out the raid, but when they later demanded more money he refused. He was acquitted of all charges related to the raid in July 2006. Sukhumvit Road
Sukhumvit Road (, , ), or Highway 3 (), is a major road in Thailand, and a major surface road of Bangkok and other cities. It follows a coastal route from Bangkok to Khlong Yai District, Trat border to Koh Kong, Cambodia. Sukhumvit Road is named after the fifth chief of the Department of Highways, Phra Bisal Sukhumvit.
