Churubusco–Franklin Centre Border Crossing
Churubusco-Franklin Centre is a border crossing connecting Franklin, Quebec to Churubusco, New York on the Canada–United States border, Canada–US border. Ellenburg, New York
Ellenburg is a town in Clinton County, New York, United States. The population was 1,842 at the 2020 census. The town is named after the daughter of the principal proprietor. Ellenburg is on the western border of the county and is northwest of Plattsburgh. The southern part of the town is situated in the Adirondack Park. History The area was first settled around 1800. Ellenburg is named for Ellen Murray, the daughter of John R. Murray, a landowner. The town was formed from part of the town of Mooers in 1830. In 1845, part of the town was used to make the town of Clinton. During the Cold War, Ellenburg was the location of two of the twelve Atlas ICBM missile silos under the 556th Strategic Missile Squadron based out of the Plattsburgh Air Force Base. New York State Route 189
New York State Route 189 (NY 189) is a north–south state highway located near the northern border of New York in the United States. It extends for through the Clinton County town of Clinton from a junction with U.S. Route 11 (US 11) to the Canada–US border, where it continues into Quebec as Route 209. In between, the two-lane NY 189 serves the small hamlet of Churubusco. Outside of Churubusco, the highway passes through rural, undeveloped areas. NY 189 was assigned to its current alignment as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York and has remained untouched since. Quebec Route 209
Route 209 is a provincial highway located in the Montérégie region of Quebec south of Montreal. The route runs from the Canada-United States border in Franklin and ends at the Saint-Constant/Sainte-Catherine limit, south of Montreal at the junction of Route 132. South of the US border it continues as New York State Route 189 in Clinton, New York. This road serves as an alternative route to Route 138 (towards Montreal) and the southwestern suburbs) which is a parallel route to Route 209 located roughly 10 kilometers west of it. The ''Press-Republican'' is a daily newspaper published five days a week, Tuesday through Friday with a Saturday weekend edition in Plattsburgh, New York, United States. It is owned by Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of the Retirement Systems of Alabama.
