Indian National Congress

Mohar Singh Rathore
Mohar Singh Rathore (5 January 1926 – 22 June 1985) was a social reformer and politician from Indian National Congress. He was elected as a member of Lok Sabha from Churu Lok Sabha constituency, Churu constituency in 1984. He was also elected as member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for two terms from Churu Assembly constituency, Churu assembly in 1962 and 1972. 1984 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India on 24, 27 and 28 December 1984 soon after the assassination of previous prime minister, Indira Gandhi, though the vote in Assam and Punjab was delayed until 1985 due to ongoing insurgency. The elections were a landslide victory for the Indian National Congress (Indira) of Rajiv Gandhi (son of Indira Gandhi), which won 404 of the 514 seats elected in 1984 and a further 10 in the delayed elections. The Telugu Desam Party of N. T. Rama Rao, a regional political party from the state of Andhra Pradesh, was the second largest party, winning 30 seats, thus achieving the distinction of becoming the first regional party to become a national opposition party. Janata Party (Secular)
The Janata Party (Secular) was an Indian political party founded by Raj Narain in July 1979. On 16 July 1979, Chaudhary Charan Singh assumed its leadership and became the Prime Minister of India on 28 July 1979 with the support of the Indian National Congress (I) but resigned on 20 August 1979 after their withdrawal of support. The Janata Party led by Charan Singh was later renamed as Lok Dal before the 1980 Indian general election but officially contested in the elections under its previous name. In the elections for the 7th Lok Sabha in 1980, the party won 41 seats and received 9.39% of the total votes polled. In 1980 the party was merged into the Lokdal, that would form, along with other parties, the Janata Dal in 1988. 1980 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India on 3 and 6 January 1980 to elect the members of the 7th Lok Sabha, seventh Lok Sabha. The Janata Party alliance came into power in the 1977 Indian general election, 1977 general elections amidst public anger with the Indian National Congress (R) and the The Emergency (India), Emergency. However, its position was weak; the loose coalition barely held on to a majority with only 295 seats in the Lok Sabha and never quite had a firm grip on power. The Janata Party (JP, ) is an unrecognised political party in India. Navneet Chaturvedi is the current president of the party since November 2021, replacing Jaiprakash Bandhu. Daulat Ram Saran
Daulat Ram Saran (13 January 1924 – 2 July 2011) was an Indian politician and freedom fighter. He was well known farmer leader of Rajasthan and follower of Mahatma Gandhi. He represented Churu Lok Sabha constituency three times. He was a Union Minister in Chandra Shekhar cabinet from 1990 to 1991. Early life Daulat Ram Saran was born in a Jat family large land owned farmer in Dhani Panchera of Churu district in Rajasthan. He received his primary education at government high school at Sardarshahar. At the age of 16, he participated in a protest against school authorities when one of his teachers was beaten up by some people who were close to school principal. In 1935, at the age of 11 he was married to Jadav Devi. The couple had 3 sons and 4 daughters. He played a pro-active role in freedom struggles before 1947. 1977 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India between 16 and 20 March 1977 to elect the members of the sixth Lok Sabha. The elections took place during the Emergency period, which expired on 21 March 1977, shortly before the final results were announced.
