The Church Avenue station is a metro station, station on the IRT Nostrand Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Church and Nostrand Avenues straddling the East Flatbush, Brooklyn, East Flatbush and Flatbush, Brooklyn, Flatbush communities. The station is served by the 2 (New York City Subway service), 2 train at all times and the 5 (New York City Subway service), 5 train on weekdays. History The Dual Contracts, which were signed on March 19, 1913, were contracts for the construction and/or rehabilitation and operation of rapid transit lines in the New York City, City of New York. The Dual Contracts promised the construction of several lines in Brooklyn. As part of Contract 4, the IRT agreed to build a subway line along Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn. Louis Delsarte
Louis Jessup Delsarte III (September 1, 1944 – May 2, 2020) was an African-American artist known for what has sometimes been called his "illusionistic" style. He was a Painting, painter, muralist, printmaker, and illustrator. When Delsarte was growing up, he was surrounded by music including jazz, opera, Musical theatre, musicals, and the blues. From this experience, as well as from his knowledge of African history and culture, he has drawn much of the inspiration for his art. The Church Avenue Line is a public transit line in Brooklyn, New York City, running mainly along 39th Street and Church Avenue between Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Sunset Park and Brownsville, Brooklyn, Brownsville. Originally a streetcar line, it is now the B35 bus route, operated by New York City Transit buses, MTA New York City Bus' Bus depots of the New York City Transit Authority#Jackie Gleason Depot, Jackie Gleason Depot in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Sunset Park. The Church Avenue station is an express station on the BMT Brighton Line of the New York City Subway, located at Church Avenue near East 18th Street in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn. Flatbush is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
