Chuanyue
''Chuānyuè'' ( zh, 穿越), also chuānkōng ( zh, 穿空), shortened from chuānyuè shíkōng (), is a Chinese genre of speculative fiction where the protagonist either travels back in time to historical periods, or travels to a different world. In both interpretations, the traveler comes to the new reality either in their physical body or they transmigrate into a local resident's body. The first modern work of the genre is said to be ''A Step into the Past'' by Hong Kong writer Huang Yi. Many works that can be categorized as ''chuanyue'' are published by Qidian Chinese Network, including '' Illumine Lingao''. Isekai
is a sub-genre of fiction. It includes novels, light novels, films, manga, webtoons, anime, and video games that revolve around a person or people who are transported to and have to survive in another world such as a fantasy world, virtual world, game world, or Parallel universes in fiction, parallel universe with or without the possibility of returning to their original world. Isekai is one of the most popular genres of anime, and isekai stories share many common tropes – for example, a powerful protagonist who is able to beat most people in the other world by fighting. Accidental travel is a speculative fiction plot device in which ordinary people accidentally find themselves outside of their normal place or time, often for no apparent reason, a particular type of the “ fish-out-of-water” plot. ''Illumine Lingao'' (), also known as ''Morning Star of Lingao'', is a Chinese ''chuanyue'' (time travel) novel co-written by Xiao Feng () under the pen name "Boaster" ( zh, link=no, 吹牛者). The novel was originally published online in 2009 on Qidian Chinese Network. The first print volume was published by China Radio, Film & TV Press in 2017. Plot In the story, more than 500 people from early-21st-century China intentionally travel back in time via wormhole to the Chongzhen-era late Ming dynasty in 1628 AD.
