Sergey Jacques Paramonov (; 4 November 1894, Kharkiv – 22 September 1967, Canberra) was a Soviet and Australian entomologist, specializing on flies (Diptera), of which described about 700 species and subspecies. Paramonov published over 185 scientific articles, some of which were published posthumously. Brian Roy Stuckenberg
Brian Roy Stuckenberg (7 April 1930 – 8 February 2009) was a South African entomologist who specialised in Diptera. Stuckenberg was of Danish descent, his great-uncle was the poet Viggo Stuckenberg. Stuckenberg was head of Entomology at the Natal Museum (now KwaZulu-Natal Museum) in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He became Africa’s leading dipterist, building one of the largest collections of Afrotropical flies in the world. Erwin Lindner
Erwin Lindner (7 April 1888 – 30 November 1988) was a German entomologist mainly interested in Diptera. He was born in Böglins, Memmingen, and died in Stuttgart, at age 100 years. In 1913, Erwin Lindner joined the State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart and was head of the Department of Entomology there until 1953. He edited ''Die Fliegen der paläarktischen Region'' (the Flies of the Palaearctic Region), a twelve-volume seminal work on the systematics and anatomy of the flies of the Palearctic realm.
