Christopher Hines is an American documentary film director and a journalist Hines started as a journalist in the San Francisco Bay Area, reporting on politics, business, education and military affairs for the ''Oakland Tribune'' and ''San Francisco Chronicle''. Hines was an embedded journalist during the Iraq War and became an international correspondent reporting from Asia and the Middle East. The ''Oakland Tribune'' is a weekly newspaper published in Oakland, California, by the Bay Area News Group (BANG), a subsidiary of MediaNews Group. Founded in 1874, the ''Tribune'' rose to become an influential daily newspaper. With the decline of print media, in March 2016, parent company Digital First Media announced that the ''Tribune'' would fold into a new newspaper entitled the '' East Bay Times'' along with the company's other newspapers in the East Bay starting April 5, 2016. San Francisco Chronicle
The ''San Francisco Chronicle'' is a newspaper serving primarily the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. It was founded in 1865 as ''The Daily Dramatic Chronicle'' by teenage brothers Charles de Young and Michael H. de Young. The paper is owned by the Hearst Corporation, which bought it from the de Young family in 2000. It is the only major daily paper covering the city and county of San Francisco.
