Christopher Gelpi
Christopher Gelpi (born 1966) is an American political scientist at Ohio State University. He is currently the Director of the Mershon Center for International Security Studies, Mershon Center for Conflict Resolution, the Endowed Chair in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, and a published author who writes on the sources of international military conflict and American public opinion on foreign policy issues. Education Gelpi holds a PhD in political science from the University of Michigan. Mershon Center For International Security Studies
The Mershon Center for International Security Studies is a research institute at the Ohio State University. The current director is Dorothy Noyes. History The Mershon Center was founded in 1952 upon the death of Ralph D. Mershon, an alumnus of the school, who left funds to the university for the establishment of a research institute dedicated to the fields of international relations and security. Many schools founded similar centers due to the aftermath of World War II such as the Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies at Columbia University. The first director of the Mershon Center was Edgar S. Furniss Jr., who was appointed in 1960. However, he would die unexpectedly only six years later. Joseph Grieco
Joseph M. Grieco (born 1953) is an American political scientist. He is a professor of political science at Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina. Within international relations theory he is a neorealist and is a key figure in the debate between neorealists and neoliberals. Education Grieco received a PhD from Cornell University in 1982. Career Grieco joined Duke's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences as an assistant professor of political science in 1981. Peter Feaver
Peter Douglas Feaver (born December 17, 1961) is an American political scientist. He is currently a professor of political science and public policy at Duke University and a civil-military relations scholar. Feaver has served as director of the Triangle Institute for Security Studies since 1999, and founded Duke University's Program in American Grand Strategy. He served in the George W. Bush administration, where he served as a special advisor for strategic planning and institutional reform on the National Security Council. Prior to working on the National Security Council of George W. Bush, he served as director for defense policy and arms control at the National Security Council during the Clinton administration.
